It's easier to get laid in here than it is to get a beer

I never thought of it that way but that is so very true.

Depending on how much you drink, it could be the same price too!

I have not experienced the difficulty getting a drink as was posted. Just like at home I make it a point to know the names of the bar tenders and wait staff. I use as much Spanish as I know to order and to thank them. I tip accordingly just like I would at home. Always smile and say Hi if I am passing through.

Surly greedy service. Worst in CR , which is saying something.

Some are outright thieves.

Gringos on vacation kiss their ·ss and tip them so much they think they are special queens much too good to serve a drink to just anyone.

They are the biggest wh·res in CR

essencially on the right track but sadly I think they are just poorly trained and supervised and don't have much going on except a pretty face...that poor head is mostly empty....sorry to say so , but ..........

I do not drink at the DR just because of that. The bar girls continue to try and not bring back one's change. Last year when in SJ I also caught one of them taking my colones off the bar and I had not ordered a drink.

This appears to be a personal choice and not one taught by the establishment.

Post subject:  DR Bartenders... has something changed?

YEARS ago, at the DR, the bartenders would keep a card in front of you and just mark down your drinks and then you could settle up when you were ready to leave. Has this stopped?

Have not been in CR since September last year, but I neverhad a problem running a tab at either Del Rey or Key Largo. No problems at Sportsmans, HLH, or IDEM either for that matter. And that's a cash tab too, not letting them hold my credit card. Everywhere else I pay as I go.

Yes, this is true.....It seems the bartenders think you have to pay for service first,,,, just like the hookers.

It's thier culture, pay your way....

I just always pay cash, everywhere. My first trip to CR last Nov. One bartender tried to pull some sh$t. I come back from the bathroom and she hands me a tab for 4 beers. I handed it back to her. She gives it back and says I owe her for those beers. I told her politely that she has the wrong bald-headed guy. She insists and says she is going to call security. I told her that I had no problem with that. The guy tells me he is going to check the camera. I told him to check how I had been paying
for my drinks, one at a time. He returns, apologizes to me and the girl was gone. Now, every other bartender there in both my trips, no problems.

No, they still do this, but you should keep an eye on them. They have a tendancy to add some extra drinks on occasion
