Telling those 40+ gringas what you do in CR may provide you some satisfaction (out of spite) but it sure doesn't help any other man traveling to CR for whatever reason.
Let's not limit it to only CR now, there are plenty of other places about the globe where prostitution is legal. The questions, by the way, are typically NOT "What do you do when you go to Costa Rica....?"; they're more along the vein of "What's wrong with you? Why haven't you ever been married? Are you gay"? To which I reply, "I have unemcumbered relationships with prostitutes..." or words to that effect.
For the more probing type of question which is more along the lines of "What do you do in Costa Rica? Don't you get bored...?", I preach the holy grail of Villa Blanca, but if pushed, I most certainly will include enjoying my time with birds of the night. It's such an honest way to make money....and I really do mean that.
Men who are in "unhappy" relationships bore me. Many have been married more than once. If they're "unhappy", it's not my responsibility to do a darn thing about it firstly because I don't care and secondly because there is nothing I can do about it.
Personally, I treat the women I interact with in CR the same way I treated my old time used to bees...with respect and admiration...but not to the point of being pusssy whipped. I have the impression a lot of guys go to CR and do not show much respect, but rather contempt and view the woman as a piece of chattel.
However, let's not get derailed. Magnum XL's question was do I tell people and my answer was yes, including my 85 year old mommy.....and I believe if more of us were more forthcoming, the stigma some feel would vanish. Perhaps it is not proper speak about "it" at the "club", or at the Rotary or at the United Way meeting....but since I don't do any of those, it's, again, not my problem and I've chosen to not lead any sort of "double life" relative to my morals. I personally detest those three outfits, by the way. It's not a "hobby" to me....it's part of my life.....there ain't nobody in my kitchen turning out the light when I go to bed at night....
