I went to this place with a couple of other guys on my first trip but was not paying attention, you know girls and scenery was a little distracting. So were is this place located. I printed off the vip map and I still can not find it. Just need to get some drinks and stuff for the room.

Man, I went to a place my first trip, and the same thing happened. The store I went to was in a plaza with a lot of parking and the grocery store was in the middle, and directly across was a McDonald's. Was this the same one ?

Closest super mercados are Mas x Menos Avenida Central Calle 11 y 13, Perimacados Avenida Central Calle 3 or Auto Mercado Avenida 3 Calle 3

Have not a clue what market BallPlyr17 was at.

If your staying at SL, just ask Marcos or Gustavo. Marcos once was going to walk to the pharmacy for me for some chapstick.

Very helpful guys eager to meet your needs.

The Mas X Menos is fun if you are into the local style , I DO enjoy the experience. ( see Californication Dude )

There is another shop farther west on Central , go north half a block
from the water fountain on central,
very crowded little joint.

Walk down the hill from SL, through Parque Espana, under the bridge, and two more blocks to Avenida 2. Turn left for half a block and you'll be at Mas por Menos.
It's a nice stroll if it isn't raining.
I always walk down there and buy munchies for the room. I don't remember their hours, but they're open pretty early and into the evening.

The place BallPlyr17 described sounds like the plaza where Guadalupe beings. If you know where the Santa Terecita Church is, the plaza is about ¼ away: down the hill and up the other side; then on your right.

There is a Perimercados, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Carrion department store and lots of small shops.

Why would you want to waste your time and taxi fare going to Escazu? Most everything Sarettos has can be purchased at Auto Mercado. There is an AM on avenida 3 and calle 3 and also one in Los Yoses near Hotel M.

If it is to eat at Tony Romas as suggested save your money and go to JR's. Just as good, (IMO), and a hell of a lot cheaper.

There is a "local" grocery store over by Pantera Rosa whose name now escapes me. It is also owned by Wal-Mart just as Mas X Menos and AM are.....the difference is there is not as much of a selection brand wise BUT the prices are way lower.

Example: Single plastic bottle of COKE at Mas X Menos is almost 600c. It's a little over 1/2 that at this store.

Again, same items (as in vegetable, meat, canned goods, liquor, blah, blah, blah)....just not a gazillion brands of each. PENA or something akin to that.....drawing a blank....but I knows where it bees!
