I couldn't help watching that segment and feeling sorry for that poor, tortured soul on the couch. It is obvious that she was taken in by an industry, chewed up, spti out and was left feeling hollow and empty. Now she hates herself, and she knows that unless she makes some serious changes, her legacy will be nothing more than some images that men (and some women) masterbated to. And she hasn't hit bottom, yet. She continues to show us what a shallow, facile, ignorent, and ultimately unimportant little wretch she is. It is painful to watch.

When is Tyra Banks going to grow up and get a life? It is just as easy to use a TV screen to amuse horny men who have 30 minutes to kill and a bottle of Astrolube, as it is to amuse useless women who have 30 minutes to kill and a pack of Menthols. (And by "useless", I am talking about the target demographic for all those advertisements for DeVry secretarial college, the kind of people who haven't worked a real job for years and somehow have to fill up the emptiness of those hours between 9am and 3pm.)

Tyra could have grown out of her modeling phase and done something with her life besides capitalize on how she looked when she was 18. But....did she go to college? Take up skydiving? Become a nurse? Open up a homeless shelter? Run a successful small business? Do something she could be proud of twenty years from now?

And the self-hatred is so evident. She isn't a self hating Black woman. She just hates her negritude. You can see it in the war she is fighting with her hair, eye color, etc. Perhaps she blames her natural features for cutting short her modeling career. (Personally, I think she was very attractive in her natural state.) Like all successful models, actors, and athletes, they find it hard to accept that it is a very transitory career and you 95% of them will have to give it up by the time they are 30.

Being a "celebrity" was so easy, and so seductive. She is so addicted to her 15 minutes of fame, that she wont leave the spotlight.

If Tyra was serious about opposing what Sasha was doing, she would have waited a couple of years after Sasha crashed and burned. But pretty and cute Sasha will keep the eyeballs locked on the screen until the commercials come on.

Someday, Sasha will hang up her G-string and put this behind her. Probably after a year or so. But Tyra will be a clown for years to come. She doesn't know what else to do. And the more she talks and reveal herself for coffee-saucer deep fool, the less likely she will be ever hired to do anything else besides this. What? Do you think someone will watch an episode of her show and ask her to direct a movie? Run a hospital? Run for mayor? Direct a bank? Act as the trustee of a college?

There are so many levels of prostitution, it’s impossible to put all of them in one category. Perhaps all prostitution has some commonalities. One that comes to mind is once a girl accepts money or gifts expressly for having sex, she forever views men differently. But to generalize more, for example, “All prostitutes have been abused, or have a deep-seated reason for their behavior” (as Banks was trying to get Sasha to admit to), marginalizes a serious discussion and defies what is apparent to anyone who knows about the world of p4p firsthand. The question of whether a girl can be emotionally and mentally healthy and also hook depends on the “W’s”; who, what, when, where, and how? My experiences tell me there is a wide range of motives for girls hooking, with money being the obvious one. But whether a girl who hooks is addicted to money - or a substance for that matter – makes a huge difference in her mental management of the activity. If I go bet on the horses, I may get a mild buzz from the activity and may or may not return to the activity. That response is vastly different from a confirmed gambler who mortgages his holdings to gamble. Going to the track may be much more debilitating for that person, but barely make an impression on me.

I find there are more gringa hookers addicted to the money and perhaps what goes up their nose, etc. This Sasha bitch is a bummer because she’s all about the biz to support her addiction to easy money. That’s hardly a GFE. By contrast, one can imagine a Latina in her environment, maybe has a job, is close to her family, but occasionally goes out. Yes, the money is attractive, but she’s not addicted to it in the classic sense. She doesn’t jeopardize her station in life by moving wildly “up” the ladder to recreational drugs and designer clothes, nor by bottoming out and hanging out only with other hookers and pimps. And because her society is more forgiving and doesn’t make her a criminal, she may even “size up” a guy and select, which is a far cry from Sasha and the vast majority of gringa putas. ($2K? Give me a phuckin' break!)

As far as Tyra baby, she’s a very average interviewer. I wouldn’t let her bother you too much. As much as I loathe the man-hating Opra, she makes Tyra look silly by comparison.

I guess you saw the article about Julissa Brisman's bullet-ridden body in a Boston hotel after advertising on CL. They caught the guy. A madam who Julissa worked for a couple years earlier said she was a bit of a nightmare and a drunk. The madam said they had to "rescue" her on more than one occasion. This is sad and should never happen, and I'm not judging anybody or anything regarding this case. I bring it up because it has a little relevance to what we were talking about. She's the type of p4p gringa I've always avoided like the plague. Beautiful, but addicted to easy money, booze, and the "good life."

Trying to paint prostitution with a broad brush doesn't work. This girl was about as different as it gets from some of the girls on the other side of the puta divide. Now this is a sad story.
