I am going to be visiting San Jose in May and am considering staying in Rohmoser instead of at the Del Rey. How far is this from the Del rey, what do the taxi's charge, is this area safe, any mongering opportunties there? Just trying to get any info before I book a place to stay. Thanks for the info. |

No mongering and taxi will run 3k-3500colones, if you plan to hit the gulch for fun each day and night you'll spend 25-30 bucks daily on taxis. Not convenient to the action but certainly a nice area to visit or stay if you have business or amigos there. |

There are some MPs in Paseo Colon area but if you want to hang out at the SL, HLH or the HDR, consider staying at the SL, HLH or the HDR. It is like going to a convention and not staying at or next to the host hotel. You spend much of your time traveling back and forth than you will having fun. |
