Fellows and lady.

I was just curious about if many of you tell your friends back home about your hobby and what you really do when you travel to these exotic places.

I have friends who I have told about my exploits and they can't wait to see my pictures and hear my stories when I get home from a trip.

I am single , I don't date gringas and I have no Ch*ldren to hide anything from so I feel free to tell all to whomever I want. Even my boss loves my stories and pictures.

To tell or not to tell is a an important consideration in our hobby. For the most part I dont tell many people. I tell only friends who are not morally opposed to such undertakings. The friends who I know would judge me negavitely I dont mention it to since that would serve no purpose.
I dont tell any female friends for obvious reasons.
I have only told three friends and my brother all of whom love to see my pics and vicariously enjoy my stories. Everyone else thinks I travel only for white water rafting and surfing which I also do in Costa Rica on my mongering trips.

Absolutely NOT, but I've harped on this subject before and maybe my situation is different. In my experience nothing good has ever come from bragging of our exploits, your close friends may not forever be close friends and this type of info is the first thing they will use to slander you. Given the fact this hobby is looked down upon in our (US) society you will be judged harshly, your reputation tarnished and considered scum whether outed by jealousy or self righteous indignation. I know many guys like to brag and show photos, it is always tempting but from where I stand why take the chance?

I don't think it is a good idea. I used to tell co-workers where I was travelling and that I was an eco-tourist. People begin to figure it out. If you don't give a shit - then ok- but telling friends (who are not trusted wingmen) or co-workers, IMHO, is just looking for unnecessary issues.

There was a recent post regarding some idiot on a plane telling the women sitting next to him about what most guys are really doing in CR. It cost someone a relationship.

It seems that most people assume why I go there, anyway. :?

I don't have a job, don't have a wife, I'm not a politician and I'm not a preacher......so it really doesn't matter. 8)

I was trying to be diplomatic but I think PacoLoco's response is the best answer to this issue. ABSOLUTELY NOT

I have no compunction whatsoever about telling people and do so with alacrity when asked. It's not like I just walk up to them and start yappiing....but if asked, I will tell. It's pretty funny too when the 40+ women ask! Funny is an understatement. I also openly promote the legalization of the practice here in the U.S.A. It's nothing to be the least bit ashamed about in my view and if people don't want to interact with me or do business with me because I partake, screw 'em, I don't want them around me anyway. And, if they dare to mention anything related to morality I am very quick to note to God and Creation, which includes when wives and husbands are present, if one or the other has been involved or remains involved in a tryst or three. Pious motherrfucckers.....

Telling those 40+ gringas what you do in CR may provide you some satisfaction (out of spite) but it sure doesn't help any other man traveling to CR for whatever reason.

Let's not limit it to only CR now, there are plenty of other places about the globe where prostitution is legal. The questions, by the way, are typically NOT "What do you do when you go to Costa Rica....?"; they're more along the vein of "What's wrong with you? Why haven't you ever been married? Are you gay"? To which I reply, "I have unemcumbered relationships with prostitutes..." or words to that effect.

For the more probing type of question which is more along the lines of "What do you do in Costa Rica? Don't you get bored...?", I preach the holy grail of Villa Blanca, but if pushed, I most certainly will include enjoying my time with birds of the night. It's such an honest way to make money....and I really do mean that.

Men who are in "unhappy" relationships bore me. Many have been married more than once. If they're "unhappy", it's not my responsibility to do a darn thing about it firstly because I don't care and secondly because there is nothing I can do about it.

Personally, I treat the women I interact with in CR the same way I treated my old time used to bees...with respect and admiration...but not to the point of being pusssy whipped. I have the impression a lot of guys go to CR and do not show much respect, but rather contempt and view the woman as a piece of chattel.

However, let's not get derailed. Magnum XL's question was do I tell people and my answer was yes, including my 85 year old mommy.....and I believe if more of us were more forthcoming, the stigma some feel would vanish. Perhaps it is not proper speak about "it" at the "club", or at the Rotary or at the United Way meeting....but since I don't do any of those, it's, again, not my problem and I've chosen to not lead any sort of "double life" relative to my morals. I personally detest those three outfits, by the way. It's not a "hobby" to me....it's part of my life.....there ain't nobody in my kitchen turning out the light when I go to bed at night....

I am always ready to "educate" my fellow man about what is available in this great big beautiful world we all live in.
Especially a man stuck here in Gringaland who has no clue what is out there.

Please refer to the post in this section from Rio M entitled:

Not our little secret if you open your big mouth

I guess that guy on the plane felt it was necessary to educate the gringa.

I told a few guys at the beginning and nothing bad came out of it, but then I realized I'm pretty much an introverted, so why talk about it? Sharing in the forums is good.

I don't have any need to "educate" a Gringa 1: they are beyond repair and 2: I don't have any reason to talk to any so I don't.
I don't blab to everybody I meet ,just friends who would benefit from the knowledge I have.

Most of my friends I have met through this hobby. So no worries there. My co-workers (especially the married ones) are envious of my lifestyle. I am a bus driver and have had as many as 8 male coworkers at a time on my bus looking at the pics before I leave for the day.The HLH lesbian show photos are favorites.
