Post subject: | Banned words |
From the inception of CRT there have been certain words that were deemed "banned". These included such words as Ch*ld, Ch*ldren, N*no, N*na, K*ds, etc. The more R-rated words I don't care about so much but even the rules on those could be loosened up a little. Also capitalizing them only makes it more annoying. While that may have been a cute concept in 2003 I think we're all big boys and can accept them as common usage in the English language and we won't melt or go blind if we actually read one of them. I find it annoying to have to proofread and correct each instance of these substitutions whenever I copy a post or a trip report. Does anyone else think it's about time we updated that database? Just asking. Wit |

Ban words are in place for a reason... it was stated some time ago why they exist but obvously as time goes on a reminder is necessary. The words where there are * in place of letters are so that Web search Bots do not search topics and come up with the word CH**D and S*X in the same sentence... Otherwise you look up a search engine the two words and WALLAH you have the wrong people getting the wrong idea looking at CRT. ENOUGH SAID |
