The entire central valley is always dead during semana santa, and the dry days make it worse. Hitting at beach bar on the last day at midnight when the cops come and unchain the doors is hella fun though... |

I have been here for the last two Semana Santas. We were able to buy drinks across the bar on all but one day and on that day, we were able to buy a bottle on our room tab and buy set-ups at the bar. (No, not all venues are the same and there is no guarantee that this year will be like last). Some things will remain the same: Many girls will spend the time with their family and friends and there will be far fewer to chose from. However, there are also many girls who are living away from home and have no plans or girls who could easily participate in the religious holidays who would just as soon do something, shall we say, more pagan? If I was set on a "party like a rock star" crowd, I would find somewhere else in the world to be. The bars are quiet with several patrons instead of many. Last year there were around a dozen or maybe twenty of us at SL. We became a pretty tight group. Much fun was had by all and there were always willing and doable women to keep us company. I wouldn't plan a trip for Semana Santa if other dates were available but I certainly wouldn't sit in the US doing nothing because it is Semana Santa in Latin America. |
