Woo Hoo  :D 8) :D

I have just made my last Ch*ld support payment. It seems crazy I have an 18 yr old boy at my age (it was a high school thing).

But finally the time has come when I no longer have to see that Ch*ld suppoprt coming out of my check. It's not like the money stops or I wouldn't continue to help him out, but like with most guys who pay support; I'm glad she doesn't get the checks anymore.

Not for nothing, but it's no joke having a payment like that every month for 18 years.....

So now more money means more good times. This feels like a raise...ok, one more yell "HELL YEA" 8)

Cujo if they are taking $$$ directly from your check, per an income deduction order, just make sure you contact the court to have the order terminated. Otherwise the money will keep getting deducted from your check. Unfortunately it does not terminate on it's own. Then it's a real pain in the ass to try and get the money back.

Thanks for the heads up.

Actually a lady at the CS office gave me a letter to give to my pay roll department.

I get paid in a week, so we'll see 8)

I just got done paying Ch*ld support and college tuition 6 months ago. The little darling graduated and the happiest person at the graduation ceremony was me.

Extra funds will be paid to chicas at the D.R. for day care in C. R.
A vascectomy has already been purchased, paid and implemented. :D :D

WTG Cujo...good job by you honoring your commitment to the end.

I see the other side. My assistant has been chasing a dead beat for years. He owes her $20,000 plus and counting! Phone calls and pleading with Services gets nowhere. She finally got to her last court appearance to set up payment in Miami. Would you believe that morning there was an accident on MetroRail. Judge said sorry, he could have been on the rail when he didnt show!! 6 month extended court date!

Again...great job by you :!:

Never had the pain myself but was an uncle at 28 and a grand-uncle at 45. Looking to be a great-grand uncle at 63--Hey! wait a minute! I'm way too young for this shit! The relative in question is 11 years younger.

Congrats on your parole cujo, I have 17 months left for my son. is your state automatic at 18. Pennslyvania is out of highschool or 19, with no college requirement.

Cujo,

Congrats,

I have been on both sides of the Ch*ld support issue. However believe me that it is when they turn 18 and it it is time for them to head off to college that you will really have to start paying the big bucks. I totally agree with you that it is better now because you have more control on directing where the money goes than just presenting a check to the mother.

Again congrats but do not be suprised if your monetary obligation does not actually increase now!

Buena suerte,

The emancipation age (for the state of Florida) is 18. However if the Ch*ld is still in high school the custodial parent can request (and automatically be grated) an extenssion until graduation.

BUT this must be formally requested by the custodial parent and does not happen "automatically". In my case, let's just say she didn't have the where-with-all to know something like that which is why it has stopped for me.

I know (boy do I know) the expensses don't stop. But again, I never had a problem giving him anything (shit, I got him a truck at 16 and recently traded it in for a new car). It was always a sour taste knowing she could do what she wanted to with it.

As far as the chicas are concerned JOsie, hey, if thier part of the party, thier part of the party. I have no riffs paying for party favors and a good time

Wow! Are we promoting BBFS? I'm not a saint but damm! Because a vasectomy does come to play unless you are doing BB, either on the USA or CR.

I think we all (or most of us), admittedly or not, partake in BB with a gf or wife etc. It would just be nice to know the pregnancy issue is off the table. Not promoting it, but it certainly is a permanent solution to any further support payments.
