I don't know if it is just in Costa Rica, but CRT has been loading very slowly for me today. Many times the site will time out before a page will open. Is it just me or is everyone experiencing this?

I will submit this new thread and time how long it takes to upload. Then I will post the results. Here goes!

Pretty quick. Only 15 seconds to load. Maybe the problem is local or intermittent.

I have to agree with Brother Orange and Admin1. No problems today in 2 sessions, and I use a wireless modem (Dial-up connection).

Thanks, Tomas It does seem to be just CRT but I am sure it has to do with my location...San Jose CR.

Not sure if it is coincidence or problems caused by the quake but have been experiencing slow loading for the past couple of days. Get a lot of time outs not just on CRT. Hopefully it will not last to much longer.

It might be due to the Sybian using an excessive amount of electricity in the home. ... or possibly a blown-data-storage-array !!! :o  :P

Pac,

I live across the street from you and have never had a problem. Then again, there are many options available from Amnet / Racsa for access speeds.

Maybe it is time to pony up a little more coin or have little W show you how to use it

Today could not even get on the site until 2:30 this afternoon. Now every time I switch to a different forum or try to read a post get at least 1 and sometime 3 timeouts.

Wireless phones and other electronic (like Sybians) can indeed mess us a wireless signal.

Also, sometimes unplugging and replugging your wireless router reboots the device and improves speed.

Just a thought.

Thanks, Tommy. I'm glad to hear it is a CR problem and not CRT. It is funny that it only seems to affect CRT (all other sites load normally for me).

EdB - I believe I have the "broadband" speed...at least that is what I am paying for.

The Sybian has not had much use lately. I am investigating a rocking attachment for future use.

The computer is hardwired...no router. It took two minutes to load the "reply" page when I wrote this and I am not at all sure it will post before the connection times out....
