While searching for a non-Internet digital Spanish/english/spanish dictionary, I found this site:

http://www.spanishdict.com/

The site features the dictionaries of course, over 300,000 words. It also features a verb conjugator, a three-site translator, Spanish lessons, videos and games... there's a lot here.

I was thinking about where my Spanish needs to improve. Conclusion? Grammar, and this site seems to offer some really good educational materials. Haven't had too much time to fully explore it yet. Check it out, and let me know what you think.

Hope this helps you get more out of travel to Costa Rica! :D

Really nice find El C....I love the grammar part as well.

I just pulled the trigger on Rosetta Stone, so I am totally engrossed at the moment. Love it...incredibly interactive so far. Very pricey, but it was a Xmas gift to myself and I found a great deal on eBay!

An excellent find for all that it is.
Just for ho-de-hos I tried 3 different simple questions on this site: "Does your mother sell her vagina?"; "Does your father beat you often?"; and "Is Cervantes your favorite Spanish author?".
RESULTS: 1st question--same on all 3//2nd question-very different on all 3//3rd question--same on all 3 except for the word for favorite.
CONCLUSION--As simple as Spanish may appear, there are deep complexities and this is without considering regional variations and irregular verbs. As if y'all didn't know that already...
But seriously which translation do you pick going either way, especially on more complex sentences, if you're not hip to nuances?
I DID NOT intend this post to be insulting or b*ll busting but a serious inquiry and test. Please believe that.

Very nice, El C.
I especially like the "Word of the day". It even goes back 3 months.

Excellent find El C. I found this to be more intuitive than Rosetta.
