is there any part of the year that is better to visit cr than another ? do they experience hurricane season, etc? i planning my trip the feb 23 - 28. thanks. |

In terms of weather, any time is OK thou the rainy season is a henderance to some (June-mid Dec) Temps are basically the same year round. Last hurricane to affect CR was, I think about 30 years ago. It hit Nicaragua and had very little affect here. Feb is as good as it gets here in my opinion!!! |

Feb is a good time. There are really only two times of year you NEVER want to visit CR, Christmas-New Years and Semana Santa (Holy week, the week before easter). Both are family holidays, and even worse, it's when lots of tico's have off so all the resorts and hotels tend to be booked and what's not they double their prices. Other than that, weather is warm the first half of the year, very little rain until you get into may or june, then rainy season really kicks off in August/September and it basically rains every day in october and november. |
