If watching thousands of horses strutting their stuff,and shitting on 2nd avenue is your idea of a fun time, the annual Tope Parade starts at 1pm today.

But VB, you left out the only reason for going to the parade and putting up with the crowds, the smell, the pick-pockets, and the screaming K*ds:

I don't ride, but do appreciate horses... After seeing all these skinny, broken down nags they use for tours it is impressive to see the difference in the horses in the tope...

I watched the Tope yesterday for an hour. Both of you guys are correct.The horses AND the Ticas were quite beautiful. This was my third or fourth time watching it,and I found myself more interested in the Ticas. I ONLY saw three DR chicas that I recognised.
