After an extended comment period that brought 65,000 responses (an extraordinarily high number), Federal regulators have announced "...sweeping new rules..." to shielding consumers from some abuses by credit card issuers. The rules limit some of the "tricks" but in the end, it's gonna make it tougher to get credit in an already tough credit market. Also, all th tricks are always disclosed, but no one ever bothers to read those, and people get themselves into that mess by being way overextended and living outside of their means. |
