Where does one buy Bubble Bath soap in San Jose? In the Farmacias or are there other type stores that carry a decent selection? Thx. |

Walmart should have it. I used Old Spice body wash one time and it worked great. Did you bring your own rubber ducky?

You might already be down, so this may not be helpful. If you are tying to buy things and not have them packed in your case, for obvious reasons, a lot of airports have the body shop other other such stores- I like to get massage oil on stuff on the way in.. |

Let us know if you find some there Bond. Last time I bought the Calgon granules at Walgreens or CVS and packed it in my suitcase. Small, thin box fits perfectly and no hassles with TSA for liquid carry-on

Last time I bought some liquid hand soap at MasXMenos and it worked great on the Jacuzzi. Plenty of bubbles and smooth. |

great question the only bubble bath I could find was a French product selling for about $35 for an 8 oz bottle..I didn't buy it I seem to have looked everywhere and haven't had any luck I did make some however but it doesn't hold the bubbles very long there a many recipes on the internet but I couldn't find the liquid castile soap and shaving the bar hasn't worked very well This is one of the beauties of being retired and living down here... one can actually spend a week or two trying to make bubble bath and feel like you've accomplished something Pira Vida |

You can find bubble bath at some of the kiosks in multiplaza west on the bottom floor. It is much more expensive there than it is in the states or elsewhere. I have found it is quite rare down here. I would imagine there would also be some places in san pedro mall where you could buy it as well and it would likely be cheaper there than in multiplaza. It is not carried in your average farmacia or supermarket. You can ask for it, by asking for "Espuma para jacuzzi?" (roughly, Foam for jacuzzi) good luck. |

Actually--I was walking along Avenida Central and stopped into a Farmacia. The guy there spoke very good English. So when I asked him about Bubble Bath he kind of laughed at me. His response: "People don't take baths in Costa Rica"..that's why you don't find the stuff. He suggested to try a buttle of Dove liquid soap which I bought for a couple $$$. Well...I was staying in the Mansion Wing of the SL which have jacuzzi tubs. I filled up the tub with water..poured in 1/2 a bottle of the liquid Dove soap and then turned on the jets. Result: I got suds that nearly went to the ceiling.......dilema solved!! |

While you seemed to answer your question and informed us all as well, I recall many trips back that if you look in the baby section of most grocery stores where they sell baby diapers, wipes, cologne, etc there may be some soft soap and bath soap that may suffice. But Dove liquid might work too as reported. Thank you for the Q & A 
I especially liked the comment about living here and spending a week to invent bubble bath with sense of accomplishment from LivinCR.
What about clothes washing liquid. When ever I use it in my dishwasher, my kitchen floor is covered with bubbles.
