Name places like the Mustang Ranch and the Bunny Ranch always charge more. I was disappointed in the experience at MR and never went to BR.

I went to the places in Mound House and never paid over $150. Mound House is east of Carson City off of US 50, down past the junk yards. Some of the girls were mediocre but I did have one who was a true GFE and I could make appointments with her via the internet.

Jazzbo, this is not intended to be argumentative but simply a question. You wrote that it took the BBC to put it on (the story about the brothels) yet when I saw the video it showed Martin Bashir of ABC News. Bashir has an obviously British accent but all else indicates he is with ABC News and not the BBC.

My interpretation of your comment is that you have little faith in the American news media. I could not agree more and have frequently referred to the news media as the masterful purveyors of historical fiction and irrelevant blather. In the US, the news is entertainment guised as vital and/or important information. For example, today one of the headlines has been that Obama has not gone to church since being elected and there was another story about some gay woman comedian doesn’t want to have K*ds.

The most pitiful part is that it sells, perhpas because there are precious little alternatives.

Good call on me Brother DiegoC--I had punched up the link, then stepped away from the computer for a second--so yes the accent fooled me + the next item up was from Reuters or the Beeb. I was sloppy. Also as you said, we're not used to a feature especially on this topic being played straight. Still, I was mistaken and no excuse.

You got that right but what always gets me is the money they get for a "party". It appears the BR and MR operate on the same business model as a strip club; attach a vacuum hose to your wallet when you walk in. It reminded me of the HBO reality show "Cat House". Guys on the show would pay stupid prices to get laid by husky, cellulite ridden women. But I do agree with Dapanz 1, I too would like to tap Kimberly's fine ass.

Have you noticed a recent drop off of mongerers in CR? Any evidence that they are spending less?

From what I have been told it is not so much a decrease in the number of mongers but a decrease in what they are spending.

From what I have seen at the SL, the crowds are as big as ever. Took a short trip through the DR and the ZB (aka HLH) this afternooon, not peak times, but there were scarce chicas and even fewer mongers.

That is NOT a valid measurement, only a spot observation. Afterall, it is Tuesday prior to Thanksgiving weekend which should prove to be a very full weekend.

It is speculated that many mongers had already purchased their airline tickets and made reservations (including setting aside money for hotels) prior to the economic melt down.

Therefore, they went ahead with their trip. However, mongers do not seem to be throwing money around as they used to, but rather are being more careful. Not cheap but careful.

Again, that is based on listening to business owners, reading the papers in both English and Spanish and seeing wuzzappining.

My guess is that Elkarlos means there were far more women than men. Certainly a sign of the times as is discussed in other threads about the increase in mongering and women seeking positions in Nevada.

True that is qualitative data but nevertheless evidence of a commmon theme. In other words - less money is being spent.
