Post subject:  any good travel deals for San Jose

Any one know of a good internet site, that has good travel packages (air/hotel) to San Jose. Or should I just use Kayak.com and reserve a room with a hotel directly?
Thanks

Use Kayak and book a hotel directly.

The hotels included in the travel packages are either not in the gulch (downtoad area) or are not chica-friendly (don't allow working girls up to your room). It's better to book one of the hotels directly.

The $158 deal is with American Airlines. It ends up being about $219 round trip with the taxes and fees (if you don't check baggage), and the days you fly in and out need to be Monday - Thursday. They offer the same price from MIA and FLL. Spirit often has similar prices as well.

I find this to be a good site for airfare. http://www.farecompare.com/ I'm able to find good fares by going here then doing follow up's with the individual airlines. Of course YMWV depending on departure city, times etc.

Yes it is AA and the taxes and fees are about $61.00 making the total $219.00.

But you can get that rate without advanced notice and you can fly any day. I am flying out next Friday and back Sunday for the halloween weekend bash. Tres FFF did the same thing a couple of weeks ago for the Columbus Day bash. He booked his tickets the same day and paid $229 total. ($10.00 premium)

Check AA.com for details.

And international flights on AA, there is no bag charge for the first two checked bags so long as they weigh less than 50 lbs each. But for a weekend trip all you really need is your passport, cash money, and a Credit Card.

You didn't say where you are flying out of.

Find out the cheapest price from you destination. If you do a 1 stop like I do out of Indianapolis, then check to see if the indvidual legs can be purchased cheaper seperately (consider transferring luggage and the costs) Or driving to a location. I can sometimes drive to Chicago and park my car with a friend.
