Today I and my wingman got stopped by police on a walk from SL to Del Rey. The thing is that we got stopped by the motorcycle police in the fricking park. We showed them a copy of our passports but they demended to see the entry stamp which we did not have a copy of. They were demending that we pay $100 or they will take us to the immmigration. I was refusing to pay but my wingman fricked out and offered $40 which at first they did not want to take, but took after I said that otherwise we are going to the immigration. The moral of the story, carry your real passport or have a copy of both the main page of you passport and an entry stamp. We are stying at Sportsmens and have reported the incident.

That's why it pays to do some reading of the board. It has been posted many times, including recently, that you must have a copy of your entry stamp as well as the info page of your passport. It is also recommended that you have either your original boarding pass or a photo copy that proves the entry stamp is indeed from your passport.

Yeah......Once again, the motorcycle cops in the park. Before walking through a park......always look for the motorcycle cops. If you see them....avoid them; walk around the park.

Always carry a photocopy of your passport along with the date stamp page.

Other than demanding a bribe, the cop did nothing wrong.

They should have had their bio page and entry stamp copied. Lesson learned.

I carry the real thing... passport that is. Could I get mugged and my passport ripped off? Sure. Is it likely? No. It is, though, a risk I am willing to take. I walk the parque all the time. I look forward to a cop asking me for my passport. They're not going to get squat in the way of $$$ from me. To avoid the park... to me... is silly. A cop can stop you anywhere. If that's a fear... being stopped by a cop... check into the HDR and never leave. :D

It has been widely reported that the cops stop all "dicks" they happen to see! Pun intended... as this is a joke "Mr. Penis"!

I would tell the police to follow me back to my hotel to get my passport.
