I log out and click on the "register" link for the forum. Here is what it says..... Quote: I Agree to these terms and am over or exactly 13 years of age

I unlike you, believe this is probably an oversight and is meant to read 18. Unlike a childlish response like the one above. If you were a TRUE CRT brother (which most if not all, believe you are NOT) The gentlemenly thing to do would be to contact Admin1 privately and let him know, instead of putting it out there for everone to see..... STUPID IMHO !!!!! Don't worry about sending the PM, its already been taken care of... Hopefully this thread will be gone by morning.......... |

You are clearly, without any reservation, unfamiliar with the term SATIRE. I would explain it, but it would go over your head because you're looking for an opportunity to FLAME. Anyone who posts the very same responce in 2 threads is someone looking for a little rumble. I strongly suggest you pass over any and all posts and or threads I happen to write. You'll be happier and many more will sign on for you to represent them with you opinions... just be prepared for all the PM's you're gonna get. Give me a break guys.. I have more important things to do than monitor this rediculous stuff. Its standard age on the software that is open source that we use here.. If it makes you that unhappy than I'll outsource and pay to have the age changed otherwise STOP BUSTING MY CHOPS! I have enough to do. |

Satire - the use of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, or the like, in exposing, denouncing, or deriding vice, folly, etc. You might do a little more research as to the meaning of words. Couple the title of the thread with the body of the post.... it's "satire".

I don't know Berk, could it be that your particular use of Emoticon and where you posted it made it less likley that it would be viewed as Satire (which I do understand, but did not recongize in your post). It seems that Admin 1 did not initially get it as well- so, your well intentioned Satire might have been lost. Oh, isn't that also the domine of another section, dedicated to busting chops? If it went there, I am sure we would all have gotten it.. For what it is worth. |

It may be considered satire. But there is such a thing as good satire and bad satire, satire that successfully makes some sort of point and satire whose intent is so unclear that it can only be seen as some sort of confused negativity. It is also one thing to satirize or mock third party individuals outside our group (e.g. chicas, gringas, etc.) or even other members if they truly deserve it and/or it is done good naturedly, but it is quite another thing to "denounce or deride" (using your own words) a board that you purport to be a supportive member of, (while, ironically, failing to support it financially or in any other discernible way). If you really feel that this forum is so deserving of your contempt and you no longer wish to support it positively (either financially or in any other way), then perhaps you should just leave rather than stick around and whine about how you feel its policies and practices (which you tacitly agreed to when you registered) have somehow disenfranchised you. Nobody is forcing you to stay and put up with all this allegedly "hypocritical" "vice and folly". If. on the other hand, you really meant nothing by this pitiful and sorely misplaced attempt at humor, at least you should not be surprised or upset when others fail to appreciate what you tried to do. |
