So you do all the right things - when you monger you lessen your risks with condoms, get your exercise, minimize calories and maximize nutrition, don't smoke, have a glass of wine a day, have a social network of friends and family, get 7 hours of sleep...and you develop a brain tumor. I'm not suggesting Ted Kennedy did all the right things - I heard he drinks like a fish - but still, we're all one illness (or bus crush) away from the eternal sleep.

You better not put off that next trip to your favorite destination. You just better not....

You never know what can get you:

My car damn near killed me this last few weeks. When I would get home in the evening I was having a very strange feeling much like I had been drinking too much which I have not. Would stumble when I walked and when I laid down I felt like I was spinning. Two Sundays back made a long drive to the city. The following Monday morning had a dentist appointment were my dentist questioned why my lips are so blue. A few days later took my car in for an oil change and the GM representative asked me if I needed anything else I said yes check and see if I have a cooling system leak because sometimes I smell coolant in the cab. As he got in to check the mileage his comment was man I can really smell it in the air-conditioning system. Turned out the heating core in my car had cracked and I've been sucking in carbon monoxide for god knows how long. The only thing that probably kept it from doing me in was a lifelong habit of driving around with the window down even with an air conditioner or heater on. So you just never know guys.

That is exactly why I travel out of the country 8 or 10 times a year. I want to enjoy life while I can. You just never know.rbc100

Good observation but both times are very similar. They were both acts of self preservation...

i have strongly disliked the man from the time i was able to understand, at first when i heard he may have had a stroke my first thought was wow what a loss...but my father having passed from the exact same thing i have nothing but compassion for the family and only wish a speedy conclusion with the least amount of pain. enjoy it while you can indeed.

I have no respect for the man as a politician or personal but I wish him the very best in recovery.

Let this thread end in respect.

Living life in the spotlight has its downfalls.....I suspect few of us could stand up to the scrutiny involved in running for public office.

I don't know much about the last Kennedy brother, but I do hope he has the best of his remaining life, which, at his age, he's already on borrowed time anyway. If I was diagnosed with a terminal illness, I'd probably spend the majority of my remaining days feeding 20-dollar bills to chicas is CR in much the same fashion as I pumped quarters into video games when I was a K*D.

The man and his family have done more for me and my family than just about anyone in history. I would not be where I am today without him or his kind. I hope he recovers completely 8)

Just sitting on the couch on a Saturday night watching Star Search, I had a near death experience.

I can tell you that, IMHO, 99% of the things that are written on this board, even my own words, are no where close to what was important to me during those hours, and subsequent days.

Live your life with no regrets. What you perceive to be important right now, will not be in your waning moments as you struggle to stay on this level of consciousness.

Hug those that you love often, and tell them how much you love them, even the Gringas :) :) :) .

Health & happiness to all...
