I have a friend heading to CR April 18-22 His interests are the beach and chicas – not necessarily in that order…..I suggested stepping off the plane and heading straight to Jaco for three nights…then spending the last night in Best Western Irazu……take a cab to DR/BM, soak in the scenery, then head to ZB for some satisfaction. Phuck, I wish I could go with him, but he is going the day of my wife’s B-day through our 10-year anniversary….so CR cannot be on my agenda. I would love to think a few experienced brothers can help him through his last night on the 22nd. Maybe I’m just venting some frustration here…wishing I could make it back to CR. It has been four months since my last trip, and I’m, jonsing… I sat at my PC today and typed four solid pages of instruction off the top of my head…this is the best I can do to get a fix right now… Damn…I need to get back “home.†|

2 nights in Jaco is enough. He should spend the other 2 in SJ. |

I'd rather spend 4 nights in the HDR and just look at some pictures of Jaco. ![]() |

I don't know about staying at the HDR, but why the BW Irazu? First of all, it is a relatively long cab ride from all the P4P activity in the Gulch and downtown area. He could stay at any number of nice places downtown and be able to walk to ZB. Also, perhaps even more importantly, my understanding is that they're no longer monger-friendly. Taking chicas back ther will be difficult (because of the cab ride) if not impossible (because of their new PR policy). Paco, The HDR might be an interesting place to stay for a first time newbie for a night or 2, but not 4. The novelty of the place can wear off fairly quickly or at least after the initial thrill passes most people appreciate being able to take a break from all that craziness. Its not like you can't still go back and visit the BM at any time. You just don't need to sleep above it. You pay a hefty premium for the questionable convenience of being 2-4 minutes closer to their bar. The rooms there cost more than most other rooms of similar quality in the area plus they charge a $10 per chica guest fee that would be a disqualifier by itself for most mongers if they were any other hotel. Guys, If it were me I'd spend at LEAST half if not ALL my 4 short nights in SJ too, however crooked said this guy was interested in "the beach and chicas – not necessarily in that order" and Jaco is the only place in CR that at least partially satisfies both of those interests. There certainly aren't any beaches in SJ but there are chicas in Jaco. So maybe for this guy 3 nights Jaco and only 1 in SJ MIGHT make the most sense. |

I agree guys. Jaco was not the best move and there are hotels a lot closer to the action than Irazu. ![]() |

I pleaded with him to listen to what I thought was good advice and just take a day trip to Jaco and maybe a couple of other day trips to points close to SJ but he was set on staying at the beach so I thought Jaco was the best choice. I suggested the BW because his last night in CR will likely be with a business associate who knows his wife, so he needs to be "clean." - Hence a non-monger place far enough away from the action that the other fellow won't run home and tell hte wife about all the trashy girls....The BW still puts him relatively close to the airport and a little closer to downtown. The evening of his last night, he'll probably try to get away by himself for a few hours, check out the HDR/BM, NF, ZB, then cab back to the hotel with a big smile. |

BW Irazu had big articles in the papaers about how much they were going to loose not have chica's in. Go to the Holiday Inn. It is 25.00 to bring a girl back but they won't turn you away. Or the Sleep Inn, Again 25.00 but it is OK. Or the Pres it has a dress code. No way do you do BW Iruzu. My two cents. |

My two cents. This is good info, but my friend cannot be in a monger friendly hotel - hence the BW Irazu - little to no chance of his companion seeing the better side of CR. |
