Our web host is doing server maintenance on through Thursday April 3rd:

This realignment will be performed overnight through April 3, 2008,
between 12:00 AM EST and 06:00 AM EST. The Site will not be available at points during this time frame.

Please take note of this...

No Data will be lost during this maintenance and this will provide a better browsing expierience for all of our members.

Just an update, I'm trying to get them to move up the maintenance schedule..

My motto has always been if it aint broke, don't PHUCK WITH IT.... Of course Host / Server companies do things anyway and they did an system UPGRADE :evil: :oops: :cry: :cry: That screwed up not only our server but many on their platforms as well....

We are aware that the site has been unreachable for a few minutes here and there, and a few hours last night and the night before between Midnight and 5AM, but there is nothing I can do, until they fix their "UPGRADE" :evil:

I'm doing everything I can to get them to move up their time table, in the mean time, please be patient during these brief and sometimes long outages.

Gentlemen: I truly aplogise for the downtime.

I am at wits end, I have no solution other than to start looking for alternate hosting as they keep telling me its fixed.

Please understand I've lost many a hair off my head and I want more than anything 100% uptime.

I'm on top of it and working on it.

Gentlemen:
As you are already aware our server went down at 11:45PM EST last night and "CRASHED" we had it back up and running for standard CRT operation but believe it or not the entire discussion forum Disappared from the hard drive on the server.. I AM NOT KIDDING... :cry:

I have not slept in the better part of 30 hours now and with the help of the server team, they were able to get me the most recent Server Backup whic was 3-24-2008 741AM... Meaning Yes my friends we lost all of yesterdays data... (TRUST ME ITS BETTER THAN LOSING 4 years worth of data)

So here is where we stand... We already know at 11:45PM tonight the server will crash again... :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll:

They are in the process of setting up our new server 10 X the Ram, and 100X what we will ever need for the next 10 years.... I bit the bullet thanks to your support and am going all out on this baby... It is state of the art and as soon as it is up and ready to receive our file transfers, we will start migrating data over making sure everything is up and running properly... than do the DNS move which make take 24 hours to effect everyone world wide. I will send an newsletter out to that effect when ready.

To avoid the crash, I'm trying to get all this done before tonight! I may just get the forum moved to the direct IP so that it its not effected by any server crashes as well..Lots to do today...

Hey all you lifetim guys good thing your paid up I'm thinking yearly memberships are going up!!!! :twisted:

Again I apologize for the down town, but once we are moved we will be in good shape for a long time to come. I also apologize for yesterdays loss of data, last night I thought we lost the forum forever so forgive me If I'm relieved beyond words.

THanks again for your patience and support, I'm woking on a long term solution rather than a quick fix.

I quick update I'll also be sending out a mass email tonight... to keep you up to date..

We have succesfully moved the forum to the new server... Which is really only a temporary fix right now as we have everything redirecting from anywher on the web site to our IP where the forum now resides. You may on occasion get a redirection error from your old bookmarks but the link below will take you to the new forum!

If the old site / server crashes as it probably will at 11:45 tonight you will have to logon directly with this link for the time being.

The move occured at 3PM EST so any data between then and 8:30PM will not be replaced.

The forum is functioning at optimum speed I think everyone will agree.

Although we have moved all the data files over to the new server re-connected them is another matter all together..

THE VIP Access to the photos etc will be down until we can propagate DNS settings to the new server. At which time we will have to connect the dots so to speak...

I have been up for 3 days guys so please understand I am out on my feet right now and I'm going to head to bed with the help of a little sleeping pill

Thanks to everyone for their patience! We hope to be 100% using the entire site again very soon!

Server Update as of 908AM EST 03-26!

As they say a good nights sleep clears the mind and what wsa once the next major snafu in my world is now fixed well almost..

I'm going out on a limb here as I think we fixed the CRT VIP Gallery on the new server and as soon as its tested by my programmer this morning we will beging The DNS Propogation of CRT to the new server....

We also fixed the Video Gallery on the new server Fingers crossed everthing is working!

IN THE INTERIM: When the propogation does begin it will take anywhere from 20 minutes to 24 hours where the site will not be available..

HOWEVER since we built the entire site on the root of the IP, you will be able to acces every portion of the site using... the following

Home page access: http://74.208.106.119/index.php (which of course gives you all the access to the rest of the site as well)

Forum Access: http://74.208.106.119/phpBB2/index.php

WIth that said once our crt url moves over you can remove those links and bookmarks and use the www.costarictias.com url's etc.

We are almost there, the photo gallery had me climbing all the walls last night but we are almost home fellas!

DNS Propagation has begun... What that means for all us non computer people out there, that we are redirecting the world wide web to our new server it can take a few minutes or a few hours depending on the part of the world you are in.. so be patient

Right now using the URL the site is not reachable.. using the www.costaricaticas.com....

PLEASE REMOVE ALL REFERENCE to the IP addresses for bookmarks

ONCE AGAIN use the URL / domain www.costaricaticas.com and not the IP ADDRESS, it is for many reasons.....
