I certainly hope they know more about gambling than they do about prostitution in Costa Rica. That article is full of misstatements ![]() |

Maybe somebody can name just one of these reputable places... ![]() |

I agree ID. This is one of the problems I have had historically with insidecostarica.com . They seem to have many articles slanted or directed at certain people with totally unsubstantiated facts/statements. This article smacks of hidden agenda and sensationalism. Such terrible journalism doesnt even deserve mention on this board...but now that it has been aired...this is just my opinion in reaction to reading the article. Now on to more positive and helpful subjects. |

More and more ordinary people have come to understand the fallacious nature of news reporting. Anyone who has ever dealt directly with the news media either as an employee of the industry or as one who has been sought after by the media to be interviewed and quoted, clearly understands that the news in today’s world is historical fiction. The media takes some facts and builds a story around those facts. Truth has no bearing on what is printed or what is said on the airwaves. Many believe that the media’s significant inaccuracies and the numerous stories which have proven to have been fabricated and therefore totally false, is a large part of why major daily newspapers such as the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune and others are dramatically losing circulation. Their dishonesty and creation of lies guised as news stories has done significant damage to the credibility of old line news formats. The news is a business and they have to sell advertisements. Since viewers generally want to be entertained, the news is always slanted toward the provocative. If people really want to understand the news they would read magazines such as The Economist or watch The News Hour on PBS. The three things that generate the most interest; that aggravate people and inflame them to action are religion, race and sex. This article is a perfect example of the drivel which emanates from the so-called news media. The current Obama story is another classic example. The entire tele-babble industry, from talk radio to talk TV, is built upon those three areas. Some of the worst offenders are all news channels such as FOX News, CNN and MSNBC. FOX is among the worst. For example, watch them in the morning and try to gleaning something of import from what is reported. It is classic tele-babble: background noise, marking time in case something of actual news significance occurs. |

Although I have yet to enjoy CR I am on my way. But having played this game for 30 years and read numerous posts in this forum I almost busted a gut over this statement: "These girls enjoy their professional and they are not uptight and money hungry like the hookers in the States," explained one online gambling operator, whose wife was a former hooker and could still be one. "They enjoy sex and being in the company of rich Gringos." Now I am not going to say all of the lovely ladies there are money hungry. I have been to the Philippines, Japan, Thailand, and Korea along with numerous ladies in the US. The vast majority of them look upon their profession as a business and many could earn an Academy Award for their acting abilities. So I am really looking forward to meeting those wonderful Tica's, Colombians, Dominicans and Nicaraguans who only want to be in the company of a "rich Gringo" and enjoy having sex with me (for free cause they are not money hungry, I can lick my eyebrows, and I am awesome in bed). |

Without getting into the merits of your post about the news media I think it is important that we recognize this particular "press release"was not made by a legitimate news organization. |

I guess they mean a cedula when they say a "health card" because in all my years here,I've NEVER seen a health card that is carried by the sex workers. WOW is that bullshit. |

The most dangerous part of this, loaded with inaccuracies, article is the absurd statement that the chicas in the Rey have to have a health card. I have heard this off and on for 12 years and IT IS A TOTAL FALSEHOOD. But many guys will read this and or other ststements to this effect, believe it, and relax their caustion mode--DANGER, DANGER!!! I only know of one place in CR where the chicas are checked regularly--ZB. I have had guys actually argue with me setting in the REY. They actually believe that what the chicas are showing the guard as they enter is a health card not their cedula. |

I can't find one thing true article. The funniest comments are these: 1. Online gambling and hookers in CR???? What the hell is the connection there? 2. Unlike American hookers, the hookers in CR are not money hungry. Woahhh!!!!! Hello world! 3. Health cards? Come one... This whole article is complete bullshit. |
