Hey Guys: I just got off the phone with Johana. She was hopping mad, and chewed my b*tt. Fortunately I have an extra large sized one, so there is plenty left. ![]() Apparently someone today went to the orphanage and told them that she no longer worked at the SL, and some other things that were lost in translation, when she was on a roll. It is probably my fault, although I didn't put anything up about her and the SL, until another member told me that the SL, through a phone call, had said she was no longer working there. I haven't had my a** chewed that much since my marriage. ![]() For the record, she will still be with the SL during the build out. She says for at least a couple of months. She has requested that prior to going to the orphanage that you give her a call at the SL. Please honor her request. When, or if (I don't know at this point, she was a little hard to understand being so p*ssed), she leaves, she will have personal contact information to use, if she does indeed leave the SL. I also again asked her about what can we bring other than money. They do not want clothes. Spanish DVDs (Disney, nature type, cartoons) etc. would be fine. They also are in need of school supplies, and this is on-going. There are several outlets on the west side of town that sell these items very cheap. The driver from the SL, Jose, I believe knows where the cheap places are, ask him. I apologized to her. If I have caused any of the confusion to CRT members, I apologize to all. As long as she chooses to be involved, please talk to her prior to going to the orphanage. Sorry to have started this thread outside of the other orphanage thread. It is important that this be seen. Thanks for the support. Steve - Santas Bro http://home.nyc.rr.com/crthelps |

I don't get why she'd be mad? Maybe we could come up with a way to set up an open house during one of the busy weekends? This might cut down on the temptation for members to be "lookie loos?" Maybe bring lunch for the K*ds and staff and any guests, and have a two-hour window where we could come in and see the place, maybe bring a gift to pass? This way, we could see first hand where the effort is going without upsetting the daily routine there. Please keep up the good work, SB. I hope any negativity, bitching, or even lack of support you might see on CRT won't slow this train. |

Part of our plan was to take some photos of the place and post them on the site so everyone could see the difference our money has made. Orange recently took some and there will be more to come as progress is made. I think it would be a good idea to have one room completed and pics posted. Then schedule a few tours during times when alot of the guys are in town. |

It's none of my biz, but perhaps you guys are correct- maybe it's not such a good idea to have gringos randomly just stopping by to look around. Although with good intentions it apparently has already caused a problem, besides they do have an orphanage to run and dozens of K*ds to look after so they may not always have time to stop and show somebody around. I was going to stop by myself next trip but have decided against it unless asked to for a reason by one of the 5 guys handling it or going with one of them. |
