It seems to me that traveling to CR just to have sex and do nothing else with women would get old. Does anyone also go to clubs, dance with women, or go out to eat? I am not saying to have a serious relationship with the women but no interaction besides sex and hanging out with american men in between can be done here. |

The girls in the gulch are all about P4P. Don't expect anything else. I suppose that if you want to hang out with non-pros then you would have to venture out of the gulch. Do you speak spanish? Do you have game? Ary you savvy? If not, forget about it. CR is not the place for you. |

Civi, The majority of guys here do other things besides phucking all day. Yes, there are clubs that you can go to dnace and meet some local girls. You can also dance at Key Largo. You can go out to eat, there are some pretty good restauarants in San Jose. You can take a lady friend (working girl or non-pro) you meet throughout your journey to a nice dinner or dancing. Besides that, there are dozens of different organized tours that you can do, as well as your own sightseeing/tour. Among the things you can do are: ATV riding up in the mountains, Canopy (zip line) tour, white water rafting, fishing off-shore, mountain biking, volcano tours, coffee plantation tours, waterfalls park tours. Many like to take trips (day trips or overnighters) to the beach, a volcano, or one of the two coasts (Caribbean or Pacific). Yes, while women may be the main reason why guys travel down there, it's not all they do. phucking gets old after a few days, so you can do something else to re-charge or just to change the scenery. |

You make it sound like it's just a very cold mechanical interaction and that's it. Yes, many working girls are that way, all about the money. But many are very cool down to earth who like to have a good time. Remember, they are people too, they like to do other things, just like everybody else, besides Phuck all day. Many (most?) are very open to going out to lunch or dinner, or going away on a day trip. Many here (myself included) have taken girls away on overnight trips to the beach. You can take them to eat to a decent restaurant, something they don't do on a regular basis. Yes, you will cover the bill, but that comes with the territory. If you ask a non-pro out to dinner or to go away on a trip, you'd be paying too, so there's no difference. You can have a great time with speaking any Spanish or have much game. Yes, it does improve your experience a lot if you can speak a little Spanish, but it's not necessary. There are guys who come down with no Spanish skills and even less game (you see it all the time at DR  ), and they don't have a problem having a good time. If you enjoy it for what it is, you will have a great time. The problem comes in when guys come looking for love in the gulch, they usually get burned.

Orange: I agree with you 100%. Many of the pros are a lot of fun to hang out with if you can catch them somewhere besides the HDR. They can be personable & interesting to get to know. But in the end, they are in the gulch for the $$. If you keep that perspective you won't be disappointed. Even during slow times in the HDR when the action isn't too hot & heavy some girls are willing to just sit & chat & chill for a while. I've had some good times just getting to know some of the girls without the prospect of taking them to my quarto. It's just sort of hit & miss. In general the girls will try to score & if you arent paying they will find someone who is. |

Civi, C'mon dude, it's Costa "Freakin" Rica...The best thing about the place, you can do just about anything you phucking want, including phucking til your heart's content. But, if that gets tiring for you, and I do get sick of The Gulch after awhile, you are in a big city and there are tons of places to meet regular Ticas for dinner, conversation, practicing your espanol, gratis sexo(if your lucky), dancing and just watching another culture which I am fascinated with. There are eco-tours galore and lots of cultural experiences in the city, ie...museums,theatre, etc. Have fun, play YOUR game, and do whatever you want, it's Costa Rica, baby! PURA VIDA! |

I like talking to folks, practicing my spanish, meeting new people. There really is a lot to do there. You can go to musuems, the beach, jungle, or just hang out and chat with the locals. |

In between mp sessions and the DR, I like just walking around SJO. Is really a beautiful city in many respects.Not all plastic and neon like LV. Every day I will walk for an hour or two. Different directions, different locations. I have met some great people just walking through a neighborhood. Seen some beautiful homes as well. Then I always end up at an mp and back to debauchery. I do really enjoy talking to all the unique people you meet in CR as well. Always a fun experience. |

Civi Trust me there a many more things in CR to do than sex. If you are visiting or if you are already there. All you gotta do is open your eyes and as much as you can talk to the locals. Literature is everywhere for tours, restaurants, historical sites, geographical spots ie volcanos and mountains as well as waterfalls. Your statement is wack and has no basis for being really evaluated (exstencibly)  in this thread.

This is kind of an interesting subject. How many times a day do you spend actually having sex, 2-3? Yes, there's some "chasing" and selecting time involved, no doubt. But after you get to know SJO and narrow your venue choices down it becomes much simpler. You really need more than just sex to keep it interesting unless you're just going for a few days to get a fix- which is what I see myself doing more so now. Just the sex does get old, or anti climatic. After a couple days of 2-3 sessions it loses its importance. I agree with Mr Las Vegas that you have to be willing to walk around and get to know SJO. Of course you always can take the day trips and see some of mother earth's most amazing accomplishments too. I don't however, I usually stick to SJO. All the major hobby destinations seem to provide guys with things to do outside of the primary objective, we just have to be willing to explore a little. FWIW, there is a zip line "tour" that actually uses one of the parks in SJO and only takes around 3-4 hours from what I remember reading. |

Many working girls in my experience are quite happy to spend any kind of time you choose, provided that they're compensated for it And sometimes, the compensation isn't even in cash money. .
Some of my best times with hookers have actually not even included sex...well, at least not coitus.
I do speak Spanish and have game (I hope!) I usually tell the girl that I'm into spending a few hours, that I like to drink and hear the band, walk, shop (!), eat at a nice restaurant...whatever. I let them know that I want the date to feel just like a "real" civilian date...and most usually get it and agree. If the date in enjoyable for her, I've found that the agreed-upon time often turns into a TLN or at least, longer time for no additional money. Some chicas just like to hang out with you before/after the sex and often demand no additional cash for the time. |

Civi; Everyone has their own reasons for going to Costa Rica and filling their days in San Jose. There are tours, great fishing, surfing is supposedly awesome; do your due dilligence and you oculd stay busy for a month (finances permitting). I go for 48 hours at a time and all I do is touch the chicas, drink and gamble. If I am not in a session I am at the SL talking to Americans or at a blackjack table, also talking to Americans. Could that be done here in South Florida? Sure, but I would have to get on a boat to play blackjack and I haven't found a Zona Blue/Idem/LeGrillon that I can walk to from my house. |

I live here , semi-retired and I stay busy every second. I can't really tell you what I do but I am never bored. Where in the states, dinner used to be my favorite meal, now I hop in the bed looking forward to a great breakfast and coffee. I don't even drink anymore. I get up early and walk or jog most days unless I have an MP walking tour planned. Then I meet with another Ex pat for my best part of the day. Eggs with tomato and onions, fresh lightly grilled white cheese, gallo pinto and the very light cream that comes with this plate. I usually walk to an MP or the Rey to catch something different then I go home and work on the computer for two hours. Usually someone calls whether an ex-pat or a girl and the rest of my day is set. I don't like the beach much because I have a nice balcony on my apartment that I can lay in the sun without any one seeing me. Where it used to bother me the upsell at the MPs or the negotiating with the girls, I now look forward to the back and fourth banter. I enjoy the little things like shopping for a new shirt or walking to the hardware store as well. I always plan to go see movies but rarely ever do. I have been doing this for two years and I can't see every changing. Warren Buffet and Donald Trump can have all that money stuff back home. |

I concur 100% with what Western has written. In "that" area of San Jose it's all about money for time, irrespective of how it's spent. The guys spending, literally, $100's a day and more can fool themsevles all they want. They've purchased an illusion and as soon as the plata stops moving the ladies of "the gulch" take a hike, one way or another. Getting out of that "barrio" and into other's is far more fun, really. Even taking the bus to other areas of Costa Rica (not the tour buses either) is really quite interesting. You NEED to at least attempt to speak and learn SOME Spanish, too. This last trip (Feb. 11- - -21), I made it a point to obtain the public bus stops and locations and times for pick up and return to San Jose and the Castillo. I will admit to being a bit apprehensive about taking "in town" busses and just wandering around....but I'll conquor that concern soon. "The gulch" is all about money for time; nothing more and nothing less: This includes the infamous p4p stuff. Some of that can be good; some of it can be quite, quite lame.
