Does anyone else here sweat their ass off while in CR? I live in Florida, but its constant A/C no matter where I'm at. Whenever I walk into the DR or even ZB sometimes, it just seems hot as hell, those fans really don't do much to cool those places down. Even eating in restaurants, I am amazed how these people can get by with no A/C. I mean, of course I know they're used to it, but for me its a whole different animal. Even the cabs don't seem to have A/C. Whenever we get stuck in traffic its a sweatbox in there. I'm thinking about only taking trips either really early or late in the year, for the cooler months. Summer is definitely out for me this year I think. So, is it just me, or anyone else feel the same way? And its not like I'm a huge slob dragging my ass thru those places either, I'm a big guy, 6'1 260, but its a football player build, not a couch potato build. I always think back to that RollTide story, and then seeing the pic of him (pic #7547) and thinking man, that dude is sweating like I am. If you guys need me, I'll be standing in front of the fridge with the icebox open. |

Are you taking ED drugs? They make my body temperature go up considerably. When I was first here and using cialis a lot, I used to sweat my balls off at KL. BKTUNA I am never going home |

I only get real hot in KL if it is crowded. I find most other places comfortable. I think your size makes you a huge furnace. I am 6'1" 200. They say muscle mass increases your metabolism. Which intern would increase your body heat. |

Me too. Once in a while it gets very humid and uncomfortable, but SJ is a very nice climate for the most part. Now Jaco, on the other hand, is hotter than hell.  If you think SJ is uncomfortable stay out of Jaco.

I sweat when walking around SJO also. I think it because I live where there is little or no humidty(Montana). But I also have extra muscle mass from pumping iron every week 
Chicks love the hard body look

I lived in the deep south for many years before moving here. The first 6-8 months, I was very comfortable when my tico and Tica friends were cold (me in short sleve shirt; they in jackets! Now I guess I am climatized to the temps here, because frequently I am cold when my gringo friends are comfortable. But either way, in a place where the temp almost never goes over 80, why would anyone ,even someone from Fl. need air. 75-80 in the middle of the afternoon here is cold compared to 90-100 at that time of day in Florida. |

Actually a lot of the DR chicas have been laughing at the mass of "hard bodies" that have been showing up at the REY lately. True the stupid gringas think the mussle builder body is sexy, but Latinas as a rule are not impressed at all. As for DR chicas the only thing that impresses them is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ If you think they care what you look like, just watch how they are rubbing, carressing, kissing, teasing the 70 year old, fa,t sloppy, ugly gringo that was not considered even half way attractive even when he was young. As Barachito said it is solely the "hard, fully stuffed wallet" that they are interested in. |

My dos colones.... I live in South Florida. Some days, like yesterday, it is hot. Especially in the summer. I have always been comfortable in San Jose over my three visits (June, September, February). |

This trip I find cool. I don't know if you have ever been to Quepos, but it is brutally hot down there. I mean scorching! SJO nights have been bordeline cold. PURA VIDA! |

Oh man I know what you're saying. The second time I was in CR I stayed at the DR and my AC was broken. It was busy and they didn't have another room, and didn't offer much of resolution. It was miserable for me, but the chicas didn't mind. I remember one girl saying that sometimes turn on the heat in the del rey because the girls get cold and they don't want them bundling up. I don't know if that's true or if the DR even has a furnace system. Thank god I stay at SL from now on. Definitely don't visit Jaco. If so bring a towel out. I always do. |
