Post subject: | Honestly, Honesty |
Maybe its an indictment of our society today when a simple act of honesty is suprising, but to me it usually is.Yesterday as I walked past the front desk at Sportsmans Lodge, Venessa called to me and asked if I was the one staying in a certain room. I responded that I was and she handed me an envelope with $50 in it and told me that the Maid who did my laundry had found it in the Jeans I had left for them to clean. Thats a lot of money for the maid staff and I would never have known. To the Maid who will not read this "Thank you very much" . To Bill it must be nice to know the honesty of your staff.Befor any of you ask , yes I made a very proper expression of my appreacition. ![]() |

I saw a similar situation at the Hotel Castillo this month. We were sitting in the patio area eating breakfast, when a maid walked up to my amigo and handed him a 1 mil note.....said she found it in his pants pocket while doing his laundry. ![]() ![]() Zebra |

Have to chime in here I was staaying at Hotel Castillo about 2 1/2 years ago, I was rushing to grab my ride to the airport for departure,a s I was getting in my drivers van I heard my name being shouted out, I turned back to find one of the maids running out to me with my my wallet and about $500 I had left on the bed in my haste to leave.... Can not tell you how shocked I was by the honesty and gave her a very nice propina. The staff there as well as all of the hotels I have stayed in including SL and Amistad, I have experienced nohing but good things from the staffs. |

I would bet it was actually $100 and she changed it into two $50s and called it even... finders keepers ![]() Just kidding, that was very nice of her. |

On one of my first trips to San Jose, I stayed at the Presidente and was over getting a massage at NF when I realized that I had left my safe open. My passport, about $5,000 cash (I do not carry that much now), my camera, my wallet and other items were in the safe. Not a single thing was missing and I know that it was noticed as the safe area was cleaned around. It is nice to hear of honest happenings as too often it is only the negative that we here about. Good job Boudmon and thanks for the post. Have a Great Day, Dave |

Regarding the honesty of the housekeepers at the SL: I don't know if it's the same crew, but I have known Yolanda since she was ama de llaves at Hotel Don Carlos. She, Maria and Vera have been some of the best women I've encountered in C.R. ![]() This is another reason that I like to stay at Sportsmen's. ![]() Kudos to the staff at SL. I hope that any hotel employee reading this, or any girl in the bar for that matter.... "P passes this story on to the maids. Recognition of their honesty will go a long way toward maintaining it. As my wife says of her students: "Catch 'em being good." ![]() |

Now the rest of the story: The $50 in question was actually obtained by Boudmon when he stole it back from a Colombiana whose service was subpar. Bitch!! Way to go Boudmon!!! ![]() Ciaociao |

I saw an identical example of maid/staf honesty at Castillo last September. Some places are run right, even in CR. |
