This boxer Carl Davies was accused of rape by a Columbiana. She had been hired to perfom at his birthday party. The police secured a warrant to search his residence, with the search to be performed at 6 am. Two police were posted outside the residence, presumably to guard against anyone disturbing the evidence. That night, before the search was conducted, a car drove up and shot the two policeman, entered to house and removed two bags. The next day, the Columbiana changed her statement and indicated that she was fixing to leave the country in any event. Davies had a prior rape conviction.
