Post subject: | New Del Rey policy may explain perceived lack of 'talent' |
Apparently the Del Rey has a new policy of not allowing girls inside before 1 am IF they do not have a Costa Rican ID (cedula). I talked to one of the managers about this and he explained that Migracion was planning to do a number of raids and the Del Rey decided to minimize the hassle by excluding girls who were using passports to get in. There were problems with faked and missing exit/entry stamps, etc. I am GUESSING that they are hoping that after a couple of raids where Migracion doesn't get anybody they will give up. The assumption seems to be that Migracion isn't smart or energetic enough to do a raid at the Key Largo (where this policy does not exist) or do one after 1 am, when they let the passport girls in. So if you are wondering where all the hot Colombianas are, or why the Key Largo has been so crowded lately, there's your answer. As far as the wisdom of this policy goes, I expect lots of posts, so have at it, gentlemen (?) |

I'm just curious if this will mean more Nicas at NYB and more Colombianas going to SL? I think it would be cool to see Baja beach club as a new hangout for the chicas. Maybe John would rather have KL raided instead of the hotel so that the actual hotel guests and gamblers don't have to be inconvenienced with the bullsh*t. |

oops, the poll title should have been one of the options. I think Shawn is correct, also the KL has not been the target of these raids so far, I believe. |

I don't doubt that you were told this but it doesn't make a bit of sense to me from a business point of view and the Del Rey is a BIG business and this seems like mickey mouse thinking |

mickey mouse is the mode of thinking in CR. I understand that since places like DR operate on a very priveleged license, they have to tow the line a bit. I went through this in Indonesia with a few investments there. What usually happens is some politico gets there panties in a wad. Needs to make a big show, usually to get reelected. So you set up a few sacrificial cows to make a good show. The politico can brag problem solved, and you get back to business as usual. Just the way international business works. |

I will forgive the above statement. Either you are to new to get it or are a hopeless case. I tend to believe the latter. |

You need an all of the above. The policy is idiotic but it may also work if the police do not get the desired result in short order. |

Post subject: | I have an opinion: |
Opinion: there's nothing new on the planet just old stuff evolving: Some years back the DR started a policy whereby an unescorted lady could not enter the building unless she had a receipt for a drink from the monkey bar. The idea being to fill some unused Barstools. Me thinks this is nothing more than that old policy dressed up in a new outfit. Hopefully it will last about as long as the old one did. That would have been a few days. Lee |

Does this have anything to do with the machines I saw the girls sticking their ID cards into? |

Costa Rica would suck without Colombianas. Del Rey would begin to look like New York Bar. |
