So I sit last night and type out my trip report (kinda long) hit submit, and it's gone, never to be seen again WTF, any of you guys know what I'm doing wrong??

I remember this from a long time ago. Long is the key to your post. The system does some type of a" time out" if it sits to long. Apparently typing in a post does not keep you active. If your post is long type it in word and then cut and paste. |

If I have a long forum post to make (not just on this forum but any forum) I will write my post & do my editing in Word or some other text editor. Once I have it finished & ready to post I cut & paste it into the forum. I've gotten burned too! 
Give this a try, it should do the trick!

I've noticed this too, I get logged out after 5 minutes of inactivity... Way too short IMO, it can take longer than that to read your average trip report. |

12 Minutes to be exact and due to the very popular PHBB bulletin boards, spammer and hackers have a field day with boards not set to time out after that time slot.. The bandwidth used by search bots alone would pay the national debt of CR if we didn't time the board out after 12 minutes. SORRY! |
