When I was living there before the legit dishes could only get Spanish Language special programming, and the pirate ones were always getting zapped.

I know technology has changed over the last couple of years to allow satellite operators to allow more channel offerings, and was wondering if the situation has changed in Costa Rica.

Is it possible to get the US sports packages now on a standard dish? And does anyone have any experience getting one installed?

I'm speaking here of at a residence. I know there are sports bars where you can watch games.

Would like to hear from anyone who is up on this.

Yeah, Sky (used to be DirecTV) offers the full NFL packages, etc.. Dish Netowrk is also available, but with fewer sports.

Thanks for the response TMG...Do you know people who have these packages? Are the costs similar to what they are in the US? Has Sky bought out the DirecTV franchise in CR?

Any more details anyone could provide would be appreciated.
