Post subject:  True Stolen Car Story

this is no shit. and here is an article about stolen cars in CR to back up my claim.

Quote:
Vehicles Stolen in Costa Rica Found Around the World
At least 38 vehicles stolen in Costa Rica were found in Central America, the U.S. and Europe during an operation dubbed "hurricane" by the international police organization. INTERPOL and police agencies in the Central America region.

All the cars had been reported stolen between 2005 and 2007.

The vehicles are part of 600 stolen vehicles that left Central America and headed for different parts of the world.

The report indicates that 38 vehicles, mainly 4x4 or SUV's and pickups stolen in Costa Rica are in Europe, Central America and the United States.

According to Jorge Rojas, director of the Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ), the local police agency now has the responsibility of getting the vehicles back to Costa Rica and contact their owners.

Rojas added that this is only the first phase of an ongoing investigation, following the capture and break up of gangs dedicated to this type of crime.

Rojas says that the organizations are very professional as they can produce legal documents and any other type of documentation making it very difficult that the vehicle being sold or shipped out of the country was stolen.

The OIJ, as part of its investigation, will be furnishing the Registro Nacional (national register) with a list of all stolen vehicles around the world to determine if any of those vehicles were from Costa Rica.

Anyway, I had my vehicle stolen from me a few years ago in Florida. On some of my visits to CR, i thought I had seen it speeding around San Jose, but never got close enough to be sure.

then, just last week, my vehicle SHOWED UP AGAIN, here in florida and almost where I had left it the first time.

Sure it looked worse for the wear and tear, but at least it had ironically been returned to me by yet another scoundrel.

I did find a lot of empty mini vodkas and handfuls of soiled and smashed napkins (real small ones) in the back seat, along with prodigous amounts of cardboard in the trunk, but I now have my 1980 Oldsmobile Delta 88 back.

My Amigo, I have a really nice cherry car on the lot with your name on it.

It has only been driven to ZB by a little ole puta with a very light foot on days that end in Y. She always parked in a safe spot away from the coconut trees.

I give you a special price with a great trade.

There are a lot of these type stories. A year or so ago, I saw one of those investigative journalist programs about high dollar cars and SUVs being stolen in the U.S. and ending up in BELIZE. Even the mayor of one Belize city was driving an SUV that was stolen in the U.S.

More recently, I read in the paper that many of the KATRINA flood cars were ending up in Central and South America. Poor people were buying them, not knowing they were flood cars. They thought they were getting a good deal, but in the months afterwards, were spending a small fortune to repair them.

Well they must be running out of pu's down there and looking to import some. In the last 3 weeks while on a course 2 of our class mates have had the pu's stolen. I've heard of a few others being taken from the local airport as well. Its bad in this area for vehicles going missing this past while. #1 vehicles stolen in this area are the Ford F350 and Dodge pu's.
