I used a Bank of America debit card yesterday to try and book a INTERBUS ride, ( see other post ) along with tickets to CR via Travelocity ( day before) .
Never had a problem, with many trips booked via Travelocity.
Never had a problem, last trip using Interbus.
I just got a warning from B of A that some where my card was hacked and they stopped a bunch of possible charges . Even called me at home to check up on the charges. Of course it is now a dead card, so it will phuck up my trip a bit, I will still be there on Monday.
Not sure if the leak was via interbus, they seem to have Verisign with SSL
incryption....So Just the facts, as I know them.
YMMV
Not very clear.
HOW did you book the Interbus ride ? Did you go to them and THEY used your card or did you use the Internet to enter your card number ? Sounds like the latter ("Verisign with SSL)
I'm sure Travelocity is a secure site so that's probably a bit less likely as a "culprit".
How did you get the BoA "warning" ? Via e-mail ? How soon after the "leak" did yo get the BoA warning ? How do you know they called you at home ? Didn't they offer you a "solution" when you told them you were still in San Jose ? Presumably you need the card or at least they should have thought you might.
Sorry but not much useful info...... (but thanks for the (offer of the) help)
