My buddy is making his first trip to CR Dec. 8 - 21. I'm thinking of joining him for a few days near the beginning of his trip, as sort of a tour guide. But I've read some reports that the scene takes a big hit in December, with lots of girls going home for the holidays, etc. Would like some opinions (never in short supply on CRT!) about the pros and cons of a December trip. Muchas gracias.

Take that for what it's worth. There will inevitably be fewer chica's than usual, but there's usually fewer gringo's also. How many chica's do you need to tickle your pickle? Just go and enjoy yourself. The weather will be nice, and you're gonna get laid (unless you're hanging with PacoLoco ). What else do you need ?!?!?

That's probably true for Dec 15th on. The first couple weeks in December, they are working for money to be able to buy Christmas gifts for their K*ds.

I hope they don't ask me for a tip in a small yellow envelope for Aguinaldo

If you are leaving on the 21 you will have no trouble finding plenty of chicas. The few who leave before that to travel home will be replaced by local girls looking to get some Christmas colones for family presents.
