A former favorita used to call me that all the time - "mi vida". I know what it means translated, but I just assumed that she used it as a term of endearment, similar to "mi amor".

We've all heard the familiar "mi amor" and "amorcito" and the like. But I think I heard a new one instant messaging with a chica yesterday - "mi vida". Anyone heard that one used before? |

A ladyfriend from three years ago used this often. It was part of her normal rotation of "my love", "honey", my heart", "my life", etc, etc. It was a welcomed respite from the occasional "you sorry dog". |

Yes, it's very common. Along the lines of "mi amorsote", "mi cielo", "mi corazon", "mi principe", "mi razon de ser", etc... |

You'll get: mi vida mi cielo mi querido mi amor mi tesoro cosita... The last one seems to be specific to Costa Rica, as I've never heard anyone outside of CR use it. |

A couple chicas tried to explain these words but I didn't quite get it all - "oy" means what? They did say it's not the same as "oui" (or "ui"?) which they say along with- papi rico, oui, papi oui, que rico papi, oui, oui, oui!
