Post subject:  Site connection or speed issues?

Sorry to bring this up again Admin1  but I have to ask if anyone else is noticing these issues, just trying to figure out if it's on my end and if so how to fix it. I've noticed lately at intervals the site just slows to a crawl and several times it has just disappeared completely on me and I get the IE Can not find Site page. It's either very fast or very slow and gets quite frustrating at times. In fact it just happened and the site was "gone" for about 5 minutes during which I fired up my laptop to try and connect to CRT and got the same thing, so I know it's not just my desktop or a firewall issue. I notice whenever I'm posting and it "slows to a crawl" that's when the multiple posts occur- everytime. Also when it slows I can surf other sites and even other phpBB forums with no problems so I can't understand where or what it could be on my end.
Thanks.

You guys using IE? Next time it happens I'm gonna try Firefox from my other computer and see if it makes any difference. Whenever I see multiple posts by others I assume the same thing is happening to them? Or maybe when it's slow they hit the submit more than once...The past few days it's been really bad for me.

I never use IE, and have been noticing the same problem as of late...

Maybe it's THAT thread...

I suggest you close it right after my post Admin1.

Well the site just froze on me for about 12 minutes with Firefox and IE so guess it's not that. :?

I've been having the same problems for several weeks now and thought it might go away, but it's still happening. I can surf with ease with all other sites except CRT. Logging on, browsing from page to page, and posting have been consistently slow, even during different time of day. Admin1..pay your bills.

We were made aware of the issue earlier today for some unknown reason we were getting a memory drain off something on the discussion forum.

Whatever the cause it was causing the server to overload and time out... About 15 minutes ago the server was completely restarted and we monitored it with our host for about 15 minutes... Whatever was causing the power drain seems to have ceased I have no idea what it was but as of right now we seem to be at 100% speed wise.

I will continue to monitor the situation but as of right now we are or seem to be good to go. Please advise if the problem continues

Also our database is HUGE for a php forum and I don't purge topics, but we are on a dedicated server just hope we don't have to move to a BIGGER Dedicated server.. LOL

Please keep me updated I have monitored the last 60 minutes since the reboot and we fingers crossed are doing well.

Paco,
I've had similar problems over the past week or two. It seems sporadic, but when it does happen, it usually doesn't last for more than a few minutes. Thanks for staying on top of things Admin1!
