Post subject:  Duck Blocked...

Short rant here. Sorry, but I have seen it all. We are all used to guys who cock-block...it has happened to all of us. But now, I have been duck-blocked!!!

I went out to my favorite pond for the duck opener. I got there around 5 AM...it was a beautiful morning. Warm, light breeze. Perfect. I set up my blind and put out my nice hand carved mallard decoys. Had the breeze to my back...perfect. The only thing wrong was that I didn't have the place to myself. There was an old truck pulling a boat parked near my spot. I figured they were camping (illegally), and just waiting to decide where to put the boat and set up for ducks. The area they were in is not good for setting a boat blind so I figured they were not locals.

I sat there in my blind, resting in my chair with my trusty Browning 12 auto loader in my lap for an hour enjoying the sunrise...it was beautiful. I called for ducks a few times with my call, but only attracted a few coots. Then, that amazing thing happened that any duck hunter knows...I saw a nice flight of 8 mallards coming up the valley low and slow. Then they saw my decoys and began to descend. The thrill of this can only be known by someone who has hunted ducks before. It was going to be a picture perfect moment as those ducks came into my ambush. Unfortunately, the two guys in the truck saw them too. Just as the birds were about 100 yards out, the dudes in the truck decide to open the doors and take a stretch. Yea, right. They did that purposfully to alert the ducks and send them running scared.

Of course, my birds hit the afterburner and gunned it out of there while still out of range. Dickheads!!! Since these guys were not in position or ready to hunt, they were going to make sure that my fine day in the field was going to be ruined. How guys like that sleep at night, I will never know.

I have never been duck-blocked before. What morons. You would think a fellow hunter would have more respect than that. They were the kind of jerks who sit in a Nevada brothel bar seething while you talk to a nice lady and then they demand a line-up just to pull your girl away...then they take her back to her room "to negotiate" but really they just want to jack her up and then leave; just to put her into a bad mood and spoil another guys evening. I have seen that happen several times. Freakin morons, I tell ya.

Well, thanks for letting me rant. There will always be more hunting opportunities with women, and ducks. Fortunately I have a high tollerance for unsportsman like conduct. One thing that is really cool is that I have never been cock-blocked in CR. Guys are much more respectfull, in that place. Keep it up!

Didn't you see the PETA bumpersticker?

Dumb fookers...

I don't hunt, but I still feel your pain. I don't believe that the "stretch" was an accident. I believe the fookers saw you and decided to save the cute little duckie-wuckies from the mean old hunter. :P

PA;
Sorry to hear those douche bags scrapped your hunt. I do not know if it was malicious, but regardless, they ruined your perfect morning. Sorry.

Thats why I gave up duck hunting, Just too many dikheads out there. Now my sole pursuit in life is the Ultimate BBBJ, and believe me its a lot harder than sitting in a duck blind when its 40 degrees and raining.

Gringobill,

Good luck finding that perfect BJ. I have only rarely enjoyed them. Most women just don't understand the mechanics. I do have a favorita that gives me amazing covered jobs though, in San Jose. She is worth the trip alone. I love that Nica! :P

This is not the norm from my experience. I always thought it was funny how polite everyone was when they knew they were surrounded by men with guns. I hope this was an accident. If it wasn't , It doesn't surprise me. So many people want to be a spectator but when someone else achieves something, they are envious.

I think they just realized I was about to have something they didn't which was the perfect shot at a flight coming into my decoys. Some guys just can't stand seeing someone else get lucky. 8)

Funny how when I hang at the bar in SL people are always so polite. Things usually go like this:

Gent #1: "You sir, see that fine lady over there?"

Gent #2 "Indeed I do, old chap. Why don't you take her?"

Gent #1 "Oh, no no no...I must insist, you take the lady and I'll pick up the tab..."

Gent #2 "Don't be rediculous...you paid for the three girls at Zona this morning...I insist, you take her with my blessing..."

Yes , that is why I thought we go to CR, to get away from the rat race. Bigger House, Newer-er Car, Bigger Fake Tits - It never ends up there. The game takes over the original plan. I try not to fight with anyone over anything in CR.

Partyanimal.....at least you have your priorities right. Hunting, both ducks and quail. Just remember.....they say, " there was a time when their numbers would darken the sun".
