is taking pictures of the girls, at the blue marlin, permitted? in amsterdam, it was not considered appropriate around the red light district. sometimes once you were with a girl inside, she would allow photos, but it was always extra euros.

No, they are not around the casino area and security will tell you so if you start flashing pics. They are tolerated in the bar areas but not appreciated by the women OR some guys hanging out and you may get dirty looks, after all maybe they (we) are supposed to be on a fishing trip or not even in CR. It's best to save the photo taking for in your room or sightseeing IMO.

I have some photos that were taken in the HDR/BM but they were taken during the day when the place was not so crowded, all the subjects had agreed to being photographed and knew they were in the shot (were posing actually) and the shot was taken in such a way and direction that no one who might not want be in the shot would have accidentally been captured in the background.

Usually, if you just ask a chica if she would mind being photographed AND she agrees, there is no extra charge. Maybe other members handle this differently. If the chica balks at being photographed, it might be very tempting to offer her extra money to get her to change her mind (or more money for more risque shots), IMHO that is just setting a bad precedent that the rest of the girls might start to follow and then we might eventually all be paying extra for any pictures we want to take. If having pictures are that important to you, ask the girl about it beforehand. You should still be able to find plenty that have no problem with it, though she might specify certain restrictions such as: no internet, sin cara (no face) or solamente con ropa (only with clothes).

One last and very important thing. Many girls nowadays are balking about letting guys take their pics, because some guys post then post it on the internet without their permission. Personally, I think guys should specifically ask if that is okay to do if that is their intent. Failing that many guys follow the "don't ask, don't tell" policy which is, like it sounds, "if they don't say anything about whether or not it is okay for me to post their photos then it is fair for me to assume they don't care if I do". Personally, while I agree the girl should have realized where their photo might end up, I don't think that is a fair assumption and I think most guys in their hearts know this is not a fair assumption either or they wouldn't care if the chica later found out that their photos had been posted. In any event, if the girl does tell that she has a problem with it and the guy promises he won't post the photo, he should live up to his promise.

It is when the chicas find out that their photos have been put up without their knowledge or permission that it comes back to bite not just the poster but all the rest of us photographers as the girls are less apt to trust us even if we promise not to post. Maybe the girls will never find out, but very often they do. Even if they do not come across the photo themselves, there is always some guy who rats out his buddies, or tries to get in better with a chica by sharing his access or showing her the photos and even if that is not your chica, if she recognizes a friend word will get back that the photos are out there. BTW, this not only burns chica trust but it burns it on our side as well, with many guys less willing to post their photos because of fear of how they'll be used.

I've taken plenty of pictures of chicas & friends in the BM on a busy Saturday night but made sure of 3 things before I did:

1. I always politely ask the security guard on duty if he minded beforehand. I've never had one say no.

2. I try not to take pictures in the direction of the bar area. If you want to take a picture of a certain chica and/or group of friends, try to have them seated at the cocktail tables by the windows. That way, guys at the bar won't feel like they'll inadvertantly end up in a photograph in which they don't want to appear.

3. I never take pictures of anyone in the BM - chica or friend - without asking their permission first. Most of the chicas I've taken pictures of in the BM seem to enjoy striking sexy poses for the camera.

Follow these two guidelines and you shouldn't have any problems.

By the way, in response to how much do they charge for a picture...

I've never had a girl request money or any kind of compensation for a picture of me and her together in the BM. I was there last Saturday night though and 4 chicas were sitting at the cocktail table right next to me & my friends. One of them was wearing a mini skirt and told me she had no panties on. I told her I'd buy her table a round of drinks if I could take a picture of her with her skirt up. She enthusiastically obliged, so I guess you get what you pay for. I'm not a VIP so unfortunately I can't post the pic. But it's definitely a beauty! :D

that seems extreme- written permission? don't wish to travel with contracts. but it is reasonable to ask for oral permission. and for an explicit photo in the room i would give then a few extra dollars if that is typical.

I THINK Seahawk was being sarcastic there. Oral permission would be perfectly fine, since as I stated MANY guys don't even bother with that.

And Zombo has it right too. You shouldn't have to pay ANYTHING for photos. However, if you want to be sure you should simply ask the chica how they felt about that as part of your negotiations. If she won't do it or expects much more money for the privelege, well then there are always other chicas who won't have any problem with it at all. If I ever did pay more than a buck or 2 for EXPLICIT postable photos I'd sure as hell expect it to be for more than just one.

I've never had a chica say no to pictures of them clothed. A few said no to nudes, but usually consented If we were together again.

Funny story, A guy on another, non-monger, board is telling everyone about the great time he had in CR, but makes no mention of hookers. He posts a few pics of the nice people he met there and I see one of my regulars smilling, looking innocent. :D I was going to let the guy know that I knew why he was really there (The pick looked like it was from the pirates club), but I decided to just keep my mouth shut.

Be respectful of the people around you. Taking picures for personal use is one thing but when you start posting picures you have to consider other people.

Always ask the woman if you can take a picture. Many will agree, some will agree if it's not on the internet. Some will ask you to post on the internet. Some just say no, then I put away the camera for awhile. Usually I will ask again.

If you do post a picture, be wary of the other people in the picture. Recently I had my camera out and this Marine said he was going to break my camera. I assured him that I didn't take any pictures of him or his buddies. They can get into trouble, just like the guys that were to be fishing and were sitting at the bar at the BM all day.

I usually take over a thousand pictures on each trip and post about 30 each trip. Most are for my private enjoyment.

Remember to just have fun, keep smiling, tip well, be happy, help your fellow traveler. One good deed can go a long way.

Better to just take the pictures you want to take and then deal with whatever happens as a result.... of course be discreet so you don't draw too much attention.

If a chica poses for a picture with clothes on, clothes off, it is your picture to do as you please with it (it is your camera so she knows it is your picture). I would not ask permission to post it anywhere, but if she explicitly told me not to post it on the internet, then I would not.... but

I'm a WHORE MONGER
-she should not trust me
-she should not POSE for someone she does not have any reason to trust

she should be more careful so if bad things happen as a result of her posing, she has no one to blame but herself. I often no one any excuse for poor decision making.

Not really a hardcore view since the CRT pictures gallery is alive and thriving and so are many others.
