See today's AM Costa Rica online newspaper. http://www.amcostarica.com/ Page one. An amusing viewpoint of someone who advises that: "Everyone has heard of the Del Ray, but a lot of expats are afraid to go there. The professional women are not about to jump you and wrestle you to the floor. A polite "no, thanks," usually suffices." |

Quote from Amcostarica article "That was where the old Park Hotel was located. Years ago the hotel was the gathering spot for expats. Later it degenerated into one of the more disgusting sex shows in the city. " I thought the show was GREAT oh well! |

Nice tour! He doesn't make it sound very safe so I don't expect any surge of eco-tourists making the rounds. ![]() |

"The route passes through Transvestite Central where the tall, beautiful creatures work their own corners along Avenida 7 and are at least as good looking as the Del Rey girls. With the one minor problem." And what problem would that be Sherlock?" ![]() ![]() |

These lines in the article are classic: Also to the right is the Key Largo, one of the great older homes of Costa Rica. It is now a dance spot with at least three bars where a dog with a note in his mouth could get a date. This starts rolling about 10 p.m. |

Personally, I liked when they made this blanket statement (about the HDR): "It is fun to watch the North American tourists come through the door. They look like deer caught in the headlights". Do ALL OF US North Americans look like this ?!?!?! ![]() MG ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() Oh man... make no mistake. My 1st time walking into the lobby of the HDR??? I stepped on my tongue TWICE !!! ![]() But the article doesn't address "North American First Timers". It's just a blanket statement regarding North American tourists that come through the door. Hence my question... do we ALL look like deer in the headlights ?!? ![]() ![]() MG ![]() |

The part that reads: "Everyone has heard of the Del Ray, but a lot of expats are afraid to go there. The professional women are not about to jump you and wrestle you to the floor. A polite "no, thanks," usually suffices. The drinks are not cheap." I only add that one should be afraid not to go there. Regarding, "It is fun to watch the North American tourists come through the door. They look like deer caught in the headlights." I will only say that the author must have visited during my first appearance, because I did have the look. |

Yes it should but that does not do anything to diminish the story. |
