I am heading out there soon. The significant other will be away and I can literally go without her knowing. But my concern is if she hypothetically looked at the passport at some point in the future and saw the stamp? Better to make an excuse for going, or not saying anything at all? What have some of you guys done?

It's a shame you lost your passport...

Not sure what the replacement policy is, and if there is any paperwork along with that which could be risky... might be worth looking into...

I had a friend who had the same problem.Use a razor knife.Cut out the page. When they stamp your passport, they just pick any page.If so anyone asked why the page is missing. You spilled wine on that page.

Defacing a Federal document isnt really legal by any means. You probably get about as much jail time trying to avoid customs/immigration all together and sneaking into the country :)

This is a slippery slope Jack C. Of course, only you have a good feel for what your overall needs are. I will not preach to you about the incideous effects of using deceipt in a relationship... Obviously the potential for catastrophe exists... Not to mention lowering yourself to a moral situation that is less than honorable. I know, somewhat ironic posting this on a monger forum. I for one am completely ok with mongering in the moral sense.(or lack there of)

That said, if you chose to go to CR after sizing up your situation,,,, the fishing is great I hear..... Lots of photos may help you with your memories???

Make an excuse.

Playing games with your passport is NOT a good idea.

The trick is to spring it on her at the very last minute. Go out on a fishing excursion, take a change of shirts (or two), and then take a ton of pictures. Email pictures back to her everyday with photos from some remote location where you could not possibly be getting into any trouble.

She is going to figure something is up if she is not able to reach you for a few days. Too many risks and women are too cunning.

And if you don't actually go on a fishing trip, it would be easy to put a photo of yourself into a fishing pic with photoshop. MMM maybe some money to be made there. haha

I have to second this. Unfortunately, not all of our brothers have seen the light.
