Anyone else here have a significant other that would not be too thrilled to hear about your real trip to Costa Rica?

With that in mind, I've come up with a brilliant business model for some enterprising people. Instead of renting mobile phones that are no longer needed, maybe they should rent out virtual rooms.

This is how it would work. Someone sets up a website for a hotel. Call it Costa Rica Resort for example. Put activities that would mostly appeal to guys. 4 wheeling, mud wrestling, whatever. Also have a phone number to call.

Now, let’s say I want to book a trip and I'm staying in the DR. I would go online, book a room at this "virtual hotel" and get all of the confirmations like any normal hotel. I would give my significant other the itinerary and telephone number to the hotel, etc and if she called that number, it would be answered with the name Costa Rica Resort. Obviously when she asked for my room, they could either forward the call to me or take a message and send me a text or email with the info.

Anyone see where I'm going with this? I'd even pay an extra few dollars for my credit card to be charged in that name rather than the DR.

So what do you think guys? Am I on to something

Add to that a place to go to take "staged" pictures of your fishing trip, ATV excursion or what ever with different people different backdrops wearing different clothes etc without having to go on an all day 4 in one trip.

That’s an easy one. You take the day trip that goes from the coffee plantations to the volcano’s to the rain forest and river cruise. Take about half a dozen t-shirts and just swap them at each destination. Works like a charm and its all over with in one day but you have 5 days of pictures and stories.

Well, no girlfriend that I have ever had would fall for this one. First, the scheme requires too much work. I could see it now, she forgets something like my house entry code and she needs to contact me at "the hotel." It is not worth it.

I tell her what I tell everyone else. I have a consulting business--and I do--and I am engaging in client business and client cultivation--which I do.

You are really trying to hard and doing to much work with all that changing and all the pictures. Do this instead, purchase a skype in number for the connecting city you are travelling through(costs 5 bucks), tell your old lady you have a business seminar and will be at the following number between 7-8 before you go to bed you are busy at the seminar all day. She calls that phone number lets say you choose houston it takes only once and she gets you when you pick up the Houston 703 number and she has no doubt that you are in Houston. Oh and make some charges in the airport while you are connecting.

There is a web site out there that for a fee will give you a complete cover story all the way done to the smallest details. I am lucky that I travel almost every month of the year so I can get a few trips down to sjo with no major headaches....

I put together a guys trip every year. First question the other half asks is where are you staying. They know it’s not a seminar so I can't exactly say we are staying at the DR. If I say I'm staying at the Holiday Inn and they try to call and there is no reservation them I'm in even more shit.

It's does not matter to the single guys or those in "open" relationships but for us cheating b*st**8s, we have to have a cover story.

I don’t think it’s too far a stretch to have a website that looks legit even though the hotel itself would be fake.

Simpler solution is to just get a divorce. Having been married and divorced twice,I can honestly tell you that mongering is a shitload more fun when you are single and don't have to worry about the wife catching you.

VB is right just get a divorce so you dont have to lie all the time life is easier and more enjoyable that way. If you have a big group going down that is risky... sooner or later one of the group is going to slip up and get caught and everybody may fall like dominos

Another good reason for being single and not "in love" (whatever that means). I don't have to worry about anything, or anyone, for any reason.

My ex called about one of our daughters, she then made the comment "I hear you went to CR, and I know that there is prostitution down there!" My comment to her was, "And your point is", before I dial toned her. It sure is nice not having to listen to her sh*t anymore. I'm now making up for all the years I was a wimp, and creating a Gringa monster! The very few times I even speak to her (about our daughters only) she now knows that any crap she will give me will result in instant dial tone.

For those of you that aren't as fortunate in this area, I wish you the best. I don't think that I could pull it off.
