I have been inside the National Theater several times, but have never seen a performance there. I have promised a young lady friend that when I return in January, we would go there and make an evening of it. Does anyone know the days that performances take place, the cost, the dress code, and the type of perfomance; a theatrical play or a symphony orchestra........and any other pertinent information?

Zebra my search for scheduled events came up empty but the phone number is 221-9417.

Would be interested in locating information on ticket availability and scheduled performances as well.

Zebra,

The only thing I know about the National Theater is that flash photos are not allowed. (I got yelled at two years ago for doing so ). Perhaps a call to Marta or Patrizia at the Castillo may get you the answers you are seeking.

Thanks for the input, HolaB and BlueDevil. Good to know there's someone out there with similar interest. :) I think the theater may well be a "neglected gem" that few of us have taken advantage of. :?

Maybe someone living in CR can provide us with some info.

Thank you as well Paco. Falstaff actually opens on the 27th of julio.

The scheduled events are under Tramites, then click on Temporada 2007

Most Ticos will be dressed in slacks and a collared shirt. Guess you could call it formal casual
