I have no first-hand knowledge of the place, but I remember someone on here saying that it appears limited. In addition, I understand that you need to know Spanish to operate in this place. My godfather was thinking of buying a house there, but was upset that the English-speaking community appeared small, and few spoke English.

Great place to live unless you need to go to San Jose in rush hour or want to find local girls. Try Pepe Tejas on the road to Santo Domingo

Thats surprising to hear. I know of a few folks who live in Heredia and they indicate that there is a sizable "gringo" population. Perhaps he was in an area that is mostly Tico.

Yes, but isn't all of Costa Rica "mostly tico"?

I live near Heredia, I have yet to speak to a Gringo there. If you are going to live in a foreign country, it is a good idea to learn the language.
