" Man Sets Fire To Hotel After Being Rejected By Prostitute
Furious for having been rejected by a prostitute, a man only known as "Machillo", decided to set fire to the mattress in his hotel room that engulfed and destroyed the entire downtown building known as El Campesino hotel.

The entire structure was reduced to ashes despite the valiant efforts by the bomberos (firefighters).

The fire broke out in room 16 of the hotel located on Avenida 1, between Calles 8 and 10, when, according to one version, the man who occupied the room felt rejected by a prostitute who preferred to offer her services to another customer. Another version offered to authorities is that the man was upset that the linen in his room hadn't been changed for days.

Whatever the reason, the man decided to set fire to the mattress, warning the front desk manager of a fire in his room as he left the hotel in the early hours of the morning.

Due to the age and wood construction of the structure, the fire gutted the building in no time and there was nothing for the firefighters to do but control the blaze so as to no to spread to the adjoining buildings.

At the time of the fire there 15 people in the hotel who were quickly evacuated by the front desk manager and no injuries were reported.

The Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) is investigating the blaze and are looking for the only suspect based on witness accounts of the events preceding the fire."

It is about 7 blocks west of the Key Largo. I rode by there last night and it was decimated by the fire. Real nice part of town too.

I've got a feeling that the guy who set the fire is long gone. He probably left the hotel and headed straight to the airport. Wouldn't you?

BTW... I wonder if the chica who rejected him was a Colombiana ?!!?! If not, maybe he/she was a tranny, and when the guy found out that his P4P was "packing", he came un-glue'd and went nuts. Just a theory, but we'll probably never know.

The cheap penny-pinching monger thought he's save a few colones by staying at Hotel El Campesino and in a rush to bust his first nut he found the hottest young Tica in HDR and rushed back to his room with her in tow, forgetting to negotiate. When the lovely young Tica asked for cien it is when "he came un-glued and went nuts". Just a theory.

I've walked by that hotel before. I will be gentle and call the neighborhood not-quite-upscale. If a HDR Colombiana is working there, she's probably a grandmother who moonlights as a sumo wrestler.

Doubtful he was a gringo or tourist, that hotel makes Circus Cardboard Inns (CCI) look like the Ritz.

Glad I wasn't staying there. Next trip I will bring some marshmellows just in case some monger goes loco again
