The best places in San Jose to meet women are on the street , in stores, at the bus stops, anywhere. A great smile and some spanish is all it takes to be successful.

In bars and nightclubs the music is always loud making communication difficult especially if your spanish is not good. And the women come to dance , so if you dance like a typical gringo that doesn't help much either.

The most popular club in town is Bar Castro in barrio mexico.

Castro Disco - Barrio Mexico, Latin Dancing, if you can dance even a little you will be a hit. It is not like a going to a dance club in the US. Almost all the girls will be happy to dance/have a drink.

If you want to meet real Chicas I think meeting them working in a store is a good start. At least this way you know they have a real job. If you want a chica in the fast lane for sex better stay in the clutches of the gulch.

You forgot to supply one important thing about yourself.....your age.

The truth of the matter....it really depends upon your AGE. Forget all the bullshit about how age does not matter much in latino countries. I don't care how many discos, shops, eateries or malls you search through.....a gringo over 50 is not going to find a non pro 20 year old that likes him for who he is and wants to "date." Now if you are in your 20's or 30's, dress well and can speak basic conversational spanish then the places mentioned here by other members do provide that opportunity for chicas in their 20's....unless you're just plain drop dead ugly and have a lard gut and ass. Ans as mentioned here many times....as for pros and semi-pros age disparity is not a disqualifying issue over 90% of the time. The color of money is the matchmaker.

And yes, there are exceptions in every thing but the vast majority of young non pro women are attracted to younger men who are not more than 10 to 15 years their senior. It's certainly not as bad as the gringa bitchitas in the U.S. where old Circus would get slapped if he ask a 38 y.o. woman out.

In my experience, I have found when most latino women pass approx. 30 to 35 years of age their expectations change dramatically and that security outweighs the sexual aspects of the man....not all but in many situations.

When I was in my 40's and 50's I met some quality ladies in their 30's to early 40's attending events, orchestra shows sponsored by the National Theater in SJ. And through resident friends there. My good friend, CRdreamin and my age, met a number of fine ladies in the resorts and hotels during his travels all over the country in the 90's......some ticos called him Clint Eastwood....he had that similarity.

Anyway, I haven't been much help in your quest but I did want to point out that your age and linguistic skills will dictate your success in finding non pro chicas. Hell, even old Circus seeks out the non pros and younger women but the last time I asked a person where someone with my age and looks could find them.......they said try the mortuary. It's pitiful being me.

Excellent post Circus, and despite the myth, totally agree that the supposed "attraction" to older gringos in Latino cultures really only applies in the PFP game - although some may make an exception if they are strongly motivated to get married and come to the U.S. And we know how that usually ends...

But those plus-40s among us also have to ask ourselves, "if not for sex, would I really want to be hanging out with a 20-year-old anyways?" Is there any chance in hell we'll have any common interests or things we like to do together, let alone having to deal with the built-in disparity in energy levels? Not to mention the lack of emotional maturity common at that age.

Personally, if I ever jump into that arena again, I'll be looking at the 28-35 "sweet spot" for company. Despite Latinas' generally short shelf life, I'm sure there's a few out there who'll fill the bill, with fewer outside "issues" to deal with in the bargain.

The age factor changes some as you travel farther South into South America where the women don't see as many foriegners. It least I think this is true in Peru,
a haven for civilain women. Still, realisticly if you are in your 50's the 30's to 40's is a reasonble target group to find a compatible person at least for me and I have had very good success.rbc100

I agree with the above posts but here is where you start to run into "trouble". Yes the age difference gets ridiculous at times but when it comes to just fun who cares. When it comes to a "keeper" it does mater I believe. The problem one runs into with so many of these women whether Gringa or Latina is the older they are the more time they have had to really phuck up their lives collecting tons of baggage & scares :( ! Their family size swells faster than our dickks with a 10 :evil: !

I don't think the average man wants to finish his life alone but I rather do that than finish life with TONS of trouble & problems. Generally speaking the younger ones have had less time to screw (literally) their lives up as much. With the big extended families Latinas have plus lots of baggage that is a sure recipe for "disaster". There is a fine line to getting an age that works & finding one that has few problems with very few people. At least the younger ones are more moldable but you hate being seen as her father. It is tough but good Latinas exist, now just to find them takes time & lots of looking. There is always luck except for "old" Circus that can come into play.

Just remember if you bring one back to the USA she might develop a gringa attitude plus go from a size 3 to 4 to size 10 in a few years. I think the odds are better in the Casino :wink: ! Oh yeah then if we get lucky enough to find the "perfect" one what happens then?? Many in our puritain society consider us to have "bad Habits". This might be true in the eyes of some so will we "screw" it up with habits that are so hard to break :shock: :? :? :D ? It just aint easy fellows :) !

Castros is a popular place for the paseo colon MP chicas. I have gone out and met with them there and on other occassions met a chica at Castros and ran into them at a MP.
