Last night about 10pm, one policia started checking cedulas right next me. Within 3 seconds there were hardly any chicas to be seen. Guess what..........all exits had a dozen immigration cops staged. First they grabbed the ones trying to leave and then they flooded the HDR and KL.
They filled a giant bus and some other vans with at least a CIEN of chicas. Many were released within 2 hours. Possible they were just trying to make it look like more were arrested as the whole thing was carried live on canal 6. There was a lot of reporters and photographers. None of the chicas seemed very upset and all continued to smoke their cigarettes as they were boarding the bus.
OBTW, 2 gringa college girls got taken away for not having their papers with them. They won't forget last night for a long time. Even Miguel who works there was taken away.

From what I can gather reading the original article, they detained 110 and of those, they may deport 5, 2 Colombianas and 3 Nicas. What I don't get is that they check ID at the door for these chicas, how is it that 110 snuck past the guards? Or what?

If you mean security guards at the BM or KL, I don't think they check or care about the gals legal residency status. They check the cedulas for age. At least that is what I always believed. Wile Coyote

The girl in picture #2 from the link above is the girl that ask me for $120 the other night and would NOT negotiate. I saw her getting out of a taxi as I left so she was released within the hour.

They don't care becuase they want to stay in business, simple as that.

Your answer "because they want to stay in business" is correct but misses the mark in response to the question raised. They actually do care about that they have to care about not what is of no concern of theirs. The security people are checking age because admitting minors could put them out of business. They are not checking legal immigration status as that will not put them out of business.

p.s. Kryan, thanks for the link with pics. I got all sentimental. I really do miss Hotel Del Rey. Some of the chicas are smiling as they get taken away. Though I can't see her face I would session with the hot chica in pic #5
