I have the sad duty of reporting to you that Graeme (Graham) Doughty, co-owner of the Casino Paradisio passed away this morning. He was on the way home after an all night shift at the casino. He was less than a kilometer away from home when he was hit head on by an 18 wheeler.
He died at the scene. Some speculate that he fell asleep at the wheel.
He was a very good friend to me and to CRT. He will be missed sorely.
He leaves behind a wife and a 6 month old son. Services will be held Monday in Coronado near his residence. I will pass on the details when I get them.

Damn!!! :(

I just met Graeme about 6 months ago. The guy always had a smile on his face (except when he lost at poker).

Condolences to his family, he was one of the good guys. I too would've liked to have gone to the funeral.

Wow! Graeme was one of the good guys who always quick with a smile and laugh. He also seemed to lookout for CRTers unless, of course, you were sitting at a gaming table.

Was curious if there was plans for a fund to help his wife and Ch*ld? Would be glad to contribute to such a cause.

Beware of Friday the 13th and RIP to Graeme.

This is terrible news which hurts the heart.

Graham was a genuinely great dude and a kind soul... a true 'goodfella'. He will be sorely missed.

This is a very big blow to the brotherhood. I considered Grahme a good friend well and above any business relationship that we had. He was truly one of the good guys and his passing is a tragic loss to everyone in the CRT community.

My deepest condolences go out to his wife & Ch*ld and his family and friends at the Paradiso He surely will be missed.

Graeme,

I had no idea when you left the bar at Sportsmens Lodge and gave me a hug last night that it would be the last time I would see you. You died a happy man, being at your wedding just 13 days ago, I know you were a happy man. You just got back from your Honey Moon in Las Vegas a couple of days ago....You will be missed by us all..I promise to help look after your beautiful young son Ace and to see that Fanny your new bride is comforted by friends and family as much as possible.

You are my friend and I will miss you.

True Sportsman;
Let me echo much of what you said. Some of my fondest memories of Graeme are with you, T and me playing at the final table in the early Blackjack tourneys. We had fun and sure did laugh a lot. I miss him already. He was a true friend to me also.

I am truly shocked. I can't believe it's true.I just saw him Tuesday night just a short time after he got married. Life is so fragile. Graeme was a fun guy who seemed to enjoy life especially with his new wife. My condolences to her and their son.

That's a real bummer. You know, I have heard most of the fatal crashed happen within a couple miles of home.

May you rest in peace my friend...

The sad and unfortunate news of this event were given to me by my friend Ruffnutz while I was on my way home from the VA. The shock was almost unbearable and after I was done talking with Ruffnutz I found myself pulling over on the Parkway and somehow settle down from the realization that I had just been with him last Wednesday when I joked with him about the pijama pants he was wearing...

I will always remember him as a decent, afable, and humorous man whom I will miss saying hello to everytime I step in the Casino.

My deepest sympathy to his son and his lovely new wife who I met once.

I would hope that a special remembrance moment to celebrate his life will be part of the agenda during the next CRT quorum event.
