I just got a call from someone who asked me if I saw the news on Channel 6 last night. He said that they are running a story all week about the chicas and drug dealing at the DR. He thought it was filmed last week. He said that it was the local police this time and not Immigration. Maybe they are trying to clean up the area. (well we can dream anyways) Does anyone have more info? |

I taxi driver last night mentioned the same thing to me. He also said they have a few hidden cameras in and out of the hotel.  They are doing like date-line undercover type thing, they have girls posing as working chicks inside but they work for canal 6 trying to set up dudes. In addition they have a car with hidden cameras picking up lady boys...
Some of this was aired already but its not over yet, my guesse it´s a 2 part thing or something like that. Peace |

VB I just finished watching the 2nd segment of channel 6,s { expose} of the goings on in the Del Rey. This segment showed a gringo paying the dreaded cien. They also had cameras inside showing the chicas selling thier wares. And outside filming a chica named gabriela scoring drugs most likely coke for some chica or gringo. She is the goto chica if someone is looking to score in the DelRey. If any of you regulars know her, I would stay away from her, at least untill this blows over. Frow what I gather this is gonig to be a week long endeavor. Just thought I would put this out there tuanis |

No good will come out of the "interview" process.... My guess is they also have access to this and other hobby web sites..so be on guard... will probably get picked up by some stateside outlet as a " special" .... with video! will need some more "raw meat" after the Imus thing blows over.. everyone's looking for a oppressed victim to save.... god.. the election cycle is just starting... more to follow.... gotta stay away from those nappy headed ho's selling the drugs . Question:I am a non-drinker,smoker and drugger Not because im a saint but I used my lifetime supply up in 2004 besides im allergic to booze eveytime I drink I break out---in handcuffs! so I am wondering Is the drugs and drinking going to be in my face at all times and are all the gilrs looking to party and drink at all times? Thanks ...J |

Here is something from todays A.M. Costa Rica: TV show on immigrants points out demographic divisions By the A.M. Costa Rica staff A television news series this week was designed to show the availability of sex and drugs among San José immigrant community. But the series went a long way to showing the sections of the city immigration groups have staked out. The Channel 6 Repretel report was thin on anything new, but a reporter used a hidden camera to explore those areas where most North Americans probably should avoid. The report showed that competition and antagonisms exist among these groups. In one strip club a dancer pointed out that only Costa Rican women and Nicaraguan women work there to the exclusion of Dominicans and Colombians. The report overlooked the growing Haitian population that is displacing Dominicans in the northwest Paseo de la Vaca area. Also included was a segment on North Americans and their access to drugs and sex in the Avenida 1 and Calle 9 tourist zone. But most of the three-day report was on illegal immigration and immigrants from countries with Spanish-speaking populations. Colombians were said to dominate in the area north and west of Parque Morazán North and west of that was the area around the Mercado Borbón where the Dominicans and Haitians have settled. The distribution of the populations may not be by choice but simple a refection of apartment rents in the various areas. Venezuelans and North Americans usually have more money and live in residential areas west of the city. Despite the concerns voiced by the television series, the downtown areas are lower in serious crime than Avenida 2 and the Avenida 4-Calle 2 red zone. A feature Wednesday in the television series was a hidden camera discussion with an immigration lawyer, who said that he could fix up an immigrant with a Costa Rican wife for $600. Fake marriages represent one technique immigrants use to obtain legal status here. The television station hid the face of this lawyer. Immigration officials are not known to use hidden cameras and undercover efforts to root out crooked lawyers. |

I saw the Wednesday night report referred to in AM Costa Rica. Ninety percent of it was about marriages of convenience with the emphasis on Dominicans and Colombians. The reference to North Americans was pretty peripheral to the story. I would guess that the average Tico viewer would not leave with a "close down the Del Rey" or "send the mongers home" message. This is not to say that that wasn't the message of other installments in the series. It just wasn't last night. |

maybe the girls that look like their having more fun are less business like and clock watchers i turned down one girls company at the bar nice face-(we actually made out at the bar)but 15 lbs over weight-(looked better with clothes off) but after walking around couldn't really find any one i wanted to hang with.. so i just walked back to her and hung out, then she said 50 for you baby let's go and i ended up with her for couple hours-no rush. |
