Hi Folks.

I did a search on the board but could not find any relevant information. I have visited Thailand quite a few times and was thinking of visting San Jose.

I am of Indian origin (born in good ol' Australia) - my parents are from India. I was wondering what the attitude of the women in SJ are towards Indians. During my visits to Thailand I found that some bars refuse entry to Indians so I am not sure how welcone I would be if I visited SJ.

Thanks in advance for any information that you can provide.

kingfisher,

Welcome to the board. I don't see any problems for you in Costa Rica. I met a group of guys from Florida who were of Indian origin and the were having a great time in the Del Rey. The chicas are only interested in how green you wallet is :D

Yes there is not a problem. I hung out with a young Indian dude on the trip before last. He hardly ever posts, but is a member. He seemed to enjoy himself during the trip.

That would probably be my amigo Mighty1, a great guy who really knows how to enjoy himself. If you're an Aussie, then I'm betting you really know how to enjoy yourself too and should have a great time. The Aussies I've met have all been warm fun-loving people, but you're right that there can sometimes be that streak of racism. That shouldn't be anywhere even near the same problem in CR. Now, if you were an illegal Nicaraguan migrant worker, that might be another story...

The chicas and all the establishments ONLY care about the color of your money, not your skin. Just don't bring currency from India or Australia and you will be welcomed with open arms. I guess you could say that the chicas are "equal opportunity phuckers".

There was a group of Indian descent guys from LA that were partying like rock stars at the SL a few weeks ago. I think there are so few Indians that come here that the girls have no real opinion one way or the other.

I met up with a group of Indian fellas a few months back who were partying at Zona Blue. They were having a kick ass time and were monopolizing the talent. I saw them again at Key Largo the next night. They were having a great time and by my observation did not seem to encounter any discrimination. They were really nice guys and fun to party with. I suspect that you will have the same sort of experience.
