during my trip two weeks ago I noticed a young lady with a notebook interviewing different chicas almost every afternoon and evening. Has any one else seen this and if so whats it about? |

Does not sound good to me. Just what we need, an expose on all the prostitutas in CR. I can see that on 'Primero Impacto' on Univision or something similar (which my wife watches all the time) and she will never let me return to CR again. Guess you guys with the gringo wives would not have to worry. |

Wouldn't be the first time there was an expose' on Costa Rica prostitution. Dateline or one of those other programs did one.... Actually had hidden cameras in the front of the Del Rey and even inside the Del Rey, if I remember correctly. Zebra |

Then again....maybe the young lady with the notebook who was interviewing the chicas wants to get into the business herself, and was seeking advice, like........"always ask them for cien." ![]() |

She is probably trying to automate the process. That way the chica can obtain finacial reports and show it to all the non-workers that are making a fraction of the income! |

From a recent trip report: Quote: A young lady approaches me and tells me the she is Canadian and is living a short time in SJ gathering information on the reports that American men are coming to SJ and having sex with Ch*ldren. I agree to let her interview me but we have to talk without using our real names. She said that she had interviewed several men and even some women. She said that the DR will let her in but she can only sit there and cannot talk to any of the men. That was probably for her own safety.
The main focus of the questions seemed to be “Why do we come to SJ rather than just set-up relationships with American women. I did my best to support the team and let her know my views as well as other opinions that I had read and understood from the board on whatever she wanted to ask. In some cases it was almost embarrassing telling this young student the ways of the monger. But she was sincerely interested in what was being shared and she recorded to whole conversation for replay later. I told her that she would make her way into my trip report which seemed to please her. Perhaps my interview will make its way onto “Animal Planetâ€. |

Can you imagine if you were talking to some gorgeous, 18-year old Colombiana at the BM while she's giveing you a HJ under the bar and out of nowhere Chris Hansen & a camera crew appear asking "Care to explain yourself??" ![]() |

My opinion: It is a mistake to say anything to anyone who is involved in any broadcast or print media. If spoken to by this young lady the only proper response would be. Miss I'm sorry but I do not have any idea what you're talking about I'm on vacation here to go fishing and see the lovely sights Costa Rica nothing else. And walk away. I will restate this is just my opinion. No disrespect to anyone else with a different opinion. Lee |

Lee.... You are 1000% correct on this one. I've seen too many examples of clever editing that can make any statement given seem to support the interviewers own bias. And believe me... NO ONE is doing any reports to "promote" the P4P business. |

Yes. But if it wasn't for the Dateline segment on the P$P scene in Costa Rica I never would have heard about Costa Rica. ![]() ![]() Little did they know they were supporting P$P. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "If I lived each day as if were my last I would not be here today." GQ magazine did a two part article on the P4P in Costa Rica and how dangerous San Jose is last year, Gulch is no longer a secret. |
